No I don't consider Texas bigtime, they have gotten a ton of bigtime recruits over the years and have basically done nothing with them, it's a joke how they have performed in the tournament over the years with all that talent. Barnes is a nice guy but he has never impressed anyone with his coaching.

As much as we (correctly) assert that recruiting prowess and coaching success are not necessarily related, we also have to face that facts that when it comes to recruiting, we're basically a middle-of-the-pack school.

We can crow all we want about Texas's lack of on-court success, but if you're talking about propensity to land big-name guys, they easily have the upper hand.

Just saying we are the best program there, don't have to worry about UK or Indiana or UNC getting involved. But here is the case against Texas; They have signed 12 players the past 2 years, 7 of them guards. 4 in the ESPN100, and 4 of them are PGs. Not like he will step in and be a starter here either, but if he goes to Texas then he will be competing with two thirds of the roster. Or he can come here and be our 3rd PG/guaranteed spot in 8-man rotation.
Good point. Hopefully he sees that.
