My biggest concern is the Knicks losing to the Pistons, Thibs getting punted, Hurley sick of all this and taking that job.

This has been on my mind watching those games. My only hope is the Knicks are at a dead end and don’t have the assets to improve, so he knows it’s not the right time.

First, we literally have no third center now and we barely have any PFs. Michigan played double bigs with two highly skilled vets. Reed is a monster but his offensive game is limited to the post so he’s the 5 ostensibly, which means Reibe needs to be so advanced as a freshman that he can guard 4’s - especially stretch/undersized fours - on defense while also being able to offer enough of a shooting threat to prevent the lane from clogging up.

Double bigs in today’s game are such a rarity because it just doesn’t make sense unless you have the perfect personnel and/or no other option.

Double bigs worked well for Arkansas. I think you find a way to play your best players. IF two bigs are your best players and it’s not close, coach should come up with a scheme to play them together at least some of time.

Hurley was never going to the nba his buddy Woj helped him out in contract negotiations. He’s got nothing to lose claiming interest in the nba but he’s got a fat new contract now. I won’t believe it till I see it.

My god I would hope if/when he declares that staff would actively try to fill his spot. Waiting for him to declare before signing a replacement transfer is one thing, but we cant afford to wait for him to test and decide whether he wants to withdraw his name from the draft. That might not be until June 15th. The portal closes Friday I think, there won’t be anyone left to sign by May let alone mid June.

Agreed. I made a similar comment in this thread and received 4 laughing emojis. This isn't funny any longer. They think I’m chicken little. I hope they don’t get hit with reality like happened last year. Staff learned from that and brought in 2 guards. But we don’t have any or enough depth at the 4 now.

Furphy probably gets 15 min as a workable 2-3 he can get minutes at both. Ross and Stewart - so little news on them other than returning so I do expect like Solo last year, they take a leap this year.

If they do show Thibs the door I'll wager Jay Wright will be first in line for that job.

A northeast NBA team that isn't setup for failure is what he's been looking for since around 2010. The only jobs in the correct locations that had openings over that time span (save the Celtics due to having to abruptly change coaches) were tire fires.

He has until April 26th to announce for the NBA. We are already past last year's date. "Alex Karaban declared for the 2024 NBA Draft on April 18, 2024, while maintaining his college eligibility. He made the announcement on social media."

We had a 5th year senior and a top 40 freshman also at point guard. It didn’t work out due to physical health and/or confidence of all three, but it wasn’t for lack of planning.

Is Alex really going to wait until the 26th to make a decision? Hopefully he already has told Hurley what he is doing and we are already proceeding accordingly. He has been through this process already and he knows he is a 2nd round pick no matter what. If he is really worried about guaranteed money just stay and get the NIL paycheck.

I agree the facts on the ground are not changing regarding Alex’s decision. It is now time to decide.

I am a Knicks fan and I believe it is the coach that needs replacing. The sum of the parts is not adding up and that is on the coach. They got OG they got Bridges and he became a defensive coach of top offensive team that can not play defense.

Unfortunately I can live with the Knicks stinking because they have ever since I was an 8 yr old and Clyde and group won their second chip.

So for me I am over the Knicks like I got over losing my hair it sucked at first but eventually I got over it. I would hate to see Hurley leave for their HC job.

I just don’t see Rose going for a college coach…..but who knows….if the Knicks do lose to the Pistons Thibs has got to go. He is just too one dimensional as a coach. He can help a team get close to the top but not over.

Defense starts in the paint. I don't know why the Knicks thought that KAT could be the paint defender they needed.

The look fine with Mitchell Robinson in the game but KAT is TERRIBLE at defending the pick and roll. Knicks aren't going anywhere unless they can have him play mostly the 4 and start Mitch with him.

Should've never trade for him in the first place. Set their culture back for no reason.
