Hard to say. McNeeley was legit our best player in December of last year before he got hurt. I don't think he ever got right after that.He fits this roster better, thatās the biggest difference.
LOL!!! As I was watching this game, I'm like, "Gotta get Tarris back ASAP so this kid doesn't go one and done!!!"Can Reibe earn NIL money? Either way, looking he may be one and done. Mullins wow! AK back to our 4th option. Looking up!
Iām not saying we wouldāve lost without him (wouldnāt say weād for sure won either but not the point of this post).Thatās true.
But this thing about being mvp of that tournament is blown up a bit. His stats were ok, he had 1 big game out of 3 and was very impactful but our TEAM dominated and he was the logical choice.
People cite that as though no frosh can approach DC or even consider it. āHe won MVP of PK80 at the start of his frosh year.ā He wasnāt Cam Boozer. He was an impactful bench big with big time defensive impact on an all-time great team.
Stewart is actually pretty good in the lane. Even last year I thought he might be able to create shots the way Castle could. And I've seen flashes of it this season as well. Wish he would stop settling for threes and create better shots for himself in the lane. That turnaround from Braylon is a shot Iām pretty sure nobody else on our team could create or make⦠in his āsecondā game
It's not lightning, it is a developmental progression within a system and relative to the abilities that each athlete possesses. Tristan adapted to the system, and while in the program, his natural abilities were developed to a 1st team All American level. Silas is one month of competition into that program. I think we are all pretty excited about the BYU version of Silas. Had a tough one last night. Guess which one the staff is going to point to and say "like that"!Im very aware of the Newton start and the comparison and like you i hope lightning strikes twice but if it dont which is not out of the realm of possibility it will be a problem.
Absolutely. I pointed to a drive he had the other night where instead of being a monster and jamming it, he tried to finesse it. Gotta go right at it. Think we are seeing/saying the same thing.Stewart is actually pretty good in the lane. Even last year I thought he might be able to create shots the way Castle could. And I've seen flashes of it this season as well. Wish he would stop settling for threes and create better shots for himself in the lane.
Karaban refused to lose.Karaban came up huge with those three buckets to give us the lead. Props to Mullins but we donāt win the game without Karaban tonight, which is crazy because the first 30 minutes or so of game time it was frustrating watching him shoot.
Gutsy win that wasnāt pretty, but Iāll take it.
"Baby Face" MullinsLooks like he's 11 years old in that image. LOL
The guy with 9 assists in 23 min against Illinois is too "shot first" ?!The caveat will be Demery. If he doesnt clean up the poor decisions it could derail this season since Malachi while being a really nice back up is too shot first a guy to lead this team where it can potentially go.

Geez, ya hate to overdo it on a small sample size, but man, sure seems like he already is a special player.I'm still processing that one. I was 16 and soooo excited to see our undefeated, #2-ranked team go to KC and beat them, and we got absolutely slaughtered. This was when there were still questions if JC could win the big game, and then we went out and were down 20 by halftime and scrambled to get it under 30.
Someone mentioned young Ray, and it was that sorta vibe. Mullins could get anywhere he wanted, and his release is so quick that he can get a shot off easily. In 20ish minutes, he showed he is by far our most talented offensive player and should be getting 28-32 minutes as soon as he is fully acclimated. And to cap it off, he played solid D, and in a big spot took his first college free throws and was $$. He could be a really special player.
Do y check opposing board often? How do they compare to this placeA poster on the KU board joked that his mom was handing out orange slices at halftime, which Iāll admit was an objectively funny joke.
Indeed. The guy with a triple double (5th player ever) and who was our MVP against BYU didn't suddenly forget how to play .I think Council is one of the quickest/fastest players Iāve ever watched. Frankly I give credit to Silas for limiting his TOs to 3 in 29 minutes. Played strong defense including a tie-up that turned out to be huge down the stretch. Heās for real, despite the goldfish-term memory of many in the chat.
Would make more sense to let him get right against East Texas A&M than FloridaYeah different players he and Clingan, but a similar stack. One more game out for Reed and healthy vs Florida. Gonna need him, theyāre huge.
Itās not right to judge Liam against Bray. The teams are constructed so differently. Imagine Liam with Silas and Mali at the point, not needed to bring the ball up. Conversely, imagine Bray on that teamā¦Hard to say. McNeeley was legit our best player in December of last year before he got hurt. I don't think he ever got right after that.
The baby assassin! I'd check his ID for eligibility....They were able to capture a photo of the stone cold killer

You mean the guy that is 9-16 from three so far needs more practice ? I'd say he just needs to take them when he's open.Silas will eventually get it, and when he does, this team will be unstoppable. Late January is my guess for when he settles in.
Malachi needs to start practicing his 3s. They are sagging off of him a lot.
That's hilarious. Has this board EVER been about the opposing coach like that ?I like how the Kansas board is more interested in taking shots at Hurley than praising the defense of their players. We were getting mismatches, but it seems like we struggled to get the ball to the mismatched players.
Only one can finish with his off hand, though.Reibe and freshman Clingan will naturally be compared. They are both playing behind all conference centers, Both freshmen, both 7 feet tall, and both white
It doesnāt
People should understand the words they use. Literally is almost literally the most misused word in the English language these days. Itās not acceptable when itās factually incorrect. Ever.
Stews issue is that he has no idea how to find any offense other than sitting out on the the three point line waiting for a kick out. So he feels like a chronic bystander. And then he is way too antsy to take when he does get the pass, takes some bad shots. That one he missed the rim on entirely last night was a great case - bad shot, out of flow, too deep, missed everything. He still looks like the same player from last year. A little better on D but still not aggressive on offense. He has the tools but just not the mindset to be agressive and score. He loves to settle for the wide open 3.
What I really mean is I don't like seeing him dribble into the lane with no plan when everyone is playing off of him. He hits his open 3s. Would like to see him take more 3s even when he's not 100% wide open. You mean the guy that is 9-16 from three so far needs more practice ? I'd say he just needs to take them when he's open.
I mean... he did only have 2 pts on 1-5 shooting in his first game. I'm ok with that level of "growing pains"Yeah seriously lol. Although I was excited for him, I was still worried that like almost every freshman, he might have some growing pains. But this performance in his 2nd game at The Phog? Wow.
Why do we have to remember that? Posts like this are Reibe shade, imo. I loved DC. I still love him, I get League Pass mostly to watch him. Reibe is still developing sure, but he's a top center now, never mind next year.People have to remember this. Reibe is doing well right now which is great. Clingan completely changed the game when he was on the court even at this point though.
Reibe is not Clingan and thatās okay. Reibe is still developing great and will be great for us year 2 and should be ready to be a starter.
