Can you say this in a different way?

He doesn't know how, since he enjoys being gruff! UConn gave their last available scholarship to Purvis, so it's a mute point. Technically, Tulane doesn't join the AAC til the 2014-2015 season. Tulane would have to agree to allow Davis to go to UConn, despite him graduating already. It's one of those "flaws" of transferring, even if it's not a transfer.

Wasn't a big part of Roscoe's decision to transfer because he wanted to play SF??
Yea but good luck to him spending alot of his time there, UNLV has wings who are better suited for playing that position than him

I believe they can restrict him from where ever they want. It's not ethical, but it can still happen, but rarely does. I believe St. Joe's did something similar a couple years ago with a Senior who graduated & wanted to play his final year of eligibility elsewhere, just out of spite. I think there was a lawsuit over it, but I can't remember how it ended up. I doubt this one will turn into something like that though.
Here's how it ended up-St. Joe's came out looking like a bunch of A*$holes. But only because they WERE A*$holes.

Strange-a program led by Martelli Sr. that would be that grimy to do that to the grad who wanted to transfer, and then his son gets fired from Rutgers (excuse me-he "resigned...") for the Napoleon Complex, physically bullying, homophobic rants he was carrying out on a daily basis as a coach. How proud that family must be. How very proud.

Have you heard anything that Davis was interested in UConn? While he would be solid, we're out of scholarships for next year. Obviously we need to see how the Wolf thing plays out. I also worry that Tolksdorf could depart, since he didn't see much time on the court last year & probably won't increase much next year unless he can expand his game.

PS - Loved your "junkyard dog" comment earlier. Those kind of guys are my favorites. We should start a thread on that! LOL

Here is the thing. All things being considered equal which they will be next year in terms of our NCAA ban concluding...UConn on paper could depending on 1 key move offer Davis the golden ticket to his growth as a person and a player under the leadership of Kevin Ollie (I think he has a great shot at not just Purvis but also Black 2014). I have no doubt the connection can be made between Davis/UConn assuming the interest is mutual. Davis the junk yard dog that he is will gravitate to a coach like Kevin Ollie. I do not have any recon on any potential destinations supported by fact as of right now. What I do see is an incredible opportunity for a piece to be added that could take UConn to the 2013-2014 promised land in Texas. The logistics of such a move from Tulane to UConn undoubtedly create a smoke screen of sorts due to conference affiliation. I personally don't see that as a barrier ATM or at least 1 that could be overcome. I will admit however I have not done all my due diligence on that subject matter.

I am a UConn fan and want next year to be special. 2 rings for Bazz and he will go down as the most celebrated player in UConn history. I think a player like Davis is the missing ingredient. Many team will profess the same thing but they are not as close as UConn is to crossing over that line into the Top 4 teams in the country.

You are now officially King of the Junkyard Dawgs. Consider me your fan. :) Take is easy bro...

LOL - I started a new thread off your Junkyard Dog comment, so be sure to comment. ;) I do agree Davis could be a very good player for UConn next year. Tough gritty frontcout player with some talent. RJ Evans had a great influence on the UConn team this year, despite not being overly talented or productive. I've not heard anything of a connection, but Davis would be a very valuable addition next season. I agree with all your comments.

Well, you missed the point of my (apparently privately) clever post, but now you have me trying to fit my mind around Fishy being "gruff." Not the adjective I would come up with, that's for sure.

After seeing him against KU today...WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE.

Are you kidding me, he would have been a dream! Love that kid, goes after it every play, motor and a half and can score around the rim. Perfect

With Goober Gottlieb saying he was getting serious looks from all kinds of high majors I was like why didn't we go after him? Google led me to the Boneyard!

Davis is scrappy (gets loose balls and rebounds) but also can create his shot inside and handles the ball well enough that he is SDSU's pressure relief against man-to-man full court presses. He clearly would have helped UConn by leaps and bounds this year, but choose the Aztecs instead.

If all of our scholarship players return with Purvis and the 3 new recruits UConn will be at the 13 scholarship limit. That also assumes that Allen will not be a scholarship recipient next year
I forgot Allen was still on the team.
