I disagree that this is a weak argument. I am reminded of a quote from a Redskins executive: "We are winning the off-season." Duke goes head to head agains UCONN and everyone else in recruiting and wins recruiting battles. Duke has signed 10% of ALL McDonalds AA since 2010. With these signings Duke should not be afraid to play anyone.

Duke is usually among the best recruiting classes each year, but yet have never won an NC. In fact in the last few years they haven't even made it past the elite eight. Lack of talent is not the reason Duke isn't an NC contender every year. Lack of good coaching is the main reason. Maybe it is time to clean house.

We run a very basic offense and she is in love with her match up zone defense.
It would take a lot of time and energy to install new systems and she has two

number one man Al Brown is up to it. Al has been out sick since last year and

As an aside, the losses to UConn were with Chelsea Gray and Alexis Jones, before the injuries.

As another aside, Duke lost Monique Currie to a season-ending injury (in a preseason game) in 2002-2003 and made the Final Four. The last year that Willtalk is so fond of referencing - 2006-2007 - had Chante Black miss the entire year, with a freshman Joy Cheek as the backup power forward and center. Yet Duke went undefeated in the regular season (and that was after losing Monique Currie, Mistie Bass, and Jessica Foley) to graduation.

Injuries happen. Duke has had a lot of injuries. But there were non-competitive losses before the injuries took place. And there were still losses to significantly lower-seeded teams, post-injuries.
