Bria is capable at any given moment of being the best guard anywhere. But tonight? A rough first half. The thing I enjoy watching with UConn is the way someone can start slow and end up being the arrow that makes the kill shot in the game (see KLM). Stewie too. Her three ball in the second half was the chain saw that squashed a budding Tree rally.

Doris made the right call.

If you are a bipartisan announcer and you line up the starting 5 players, she made the correct choices! Although KML and Bria are spectacular, so are McBride and Loyd.

UCONN fans are of course going to pick all UCONN where ND would pick all ND.

Watching the game, I thought Bria played a little too fast today, faster than the pace of the rest of the team,
both on offense and defense. Unless she settles down a little, I think Jewell Loyd will have an edge.

I think Bria gets a bad wrap because of the situation she is in. She is busting he butt out there the entire game on both ends. She frequently has the ball in her hands when the clock is running down and/or when others aren't looking for a shot. Subsequently she has to take some shots outside of the normal flow of the offense. This can make her shooting numbers look worse than they should. Although lets face it, tonight in the first part of the game no one shot well.

Individually , I think Jewell has a slight edge....simply because she is a better athlete. But UConn plays basketball as a team game. And in BIG games and in the clutch I will take Bria. And the game for a college player doesn't get any BIGGER than what's coming up on Tuesday night.

Bria is my favorite college player, but I'd have to give Loyd the edge. Of course Bria is still capable of outplaying her on Tuesday.
