It's very interesting that you did that because of Calhoun and I don't doubt you. I could be splitting hairs here but the reason most people chose that route was because of the success of the basketball program. If the program would have been as successful with someone else many would have still attended, therefore it isn't simply because of coach. However, he did cause all of the success so like I said it is splitting hairs.

I'm not a Bulls fan because of MJ. I'm a Bulls fan because I had no choice to be inherently. All I'm saying is that I hope too many people don't chose to attend UConn strictly because of Coach because he won't be here for very much longer...therefore what is the other common denominator? If you claim it's because of JC then you also have to give credit to the people that gave him the opportunity at UConn and all the way down the line. That is a little extreme but it shows that its the success of the basketball program and not one person.

No doubt about that......the people on the committee who made that decision play a huge role in where the program is today. I believe Dee Rowe had a big hand in as well as a good word from gavitt...........but since the day he was hired the UConn we know today has been created by him and his will to make Storrs what it is today.........one man? No not really but damn close!!

Its not Xtreme at all. Just how a rational, level headed and well adjusted person thinks. More or less its being aware or mindful. Very healthy, reasonable and well adjusted. Being ruthless and selfish is a two way street. Its the American way (Just ask JC)!

In order to keep the likes of Calhoun in check instead of a battle of bullets, it’s a war of words and a jockeying of positions. It becomes a situation in which perception is power. Since sitting on the sidelines is not a viable option when fighting/negotiating with the JC's of this world, you will either prevail (e.g., enjoy champagne cocktails in the mountains like Warde hopes to do after JC leaves!) or fail. You can either swim with the sharks or sleep with the fishes. You can’t do both.

I love coach Calhoun. But man, this is like what his 2nd or 3rd time that he has suffered an injury while riding a bike? I think I would suggest to coach that he might want to walk or get one of those scooter thingys...and avoid the sand, coach!!! Get well, Coach.

I guess sometime in the last few days it suddenly became acceptable to crack jokes about our beloved coach. How classless! For shame you! (Heavy, Heavy sarcasm)
