Good we need him as an extra plus physical defender who can contribute a little and give Alex a blow from time to time.

That is a realy hot take. Smith might be a bad offensive player overall but he does have a good handle.

Depends what's causing it. You can have a bone bruise on your patella or high tibia\fibula or low femur. You can have ligaments inflamed. Then there is tendonitis of the IT band there too. Lots of reasons a knee can be swollen. Best is just ice and some ipuprofen but then no steroid treatment of the knee since NSAIDs as non-sterioid anti-inflammatories don't mix well with steroid based anti-inflamattories like corticosteroids
