Jaylin Stewart will be OUT for tonight’s game

Normally no, but Koroma might be a "break glass in case of emergency" type player the way Singare was and foul trouble could lead to that emergency.

Do you really think Hurley wanted to or had plans before the game to put Singare in the game last year in Omaha versus Creighton? Of course not.
Maybe we see him tonight, but I just don't see the connection to Stewart being out. This opens up minutes on the wing and Koroma is a big man.

Koroma at the 4 is a nightmare offensively even if there's a chance he can hold up defensively. I'm sure we just see an 8 man rotation tonight

Koroma has next to nothing offensively besides dunking and setting some screens here and there. He would be an emergency sub into the game if he is subbed in at all. Koroma is 6'8" 212 while Stewart is 6'7" 225, so they are similar in size-that would be the connection. I think Hurley's original plan is a 8-man rotation, but it would not surprise me to see Koroma play some spot minutes if there is a foul trouble emergency.

I think the worst thing about this is the lack of information. If it was an injury, I suspect we would have heard about it.

Singare also played some critical minutes against St. John's when we won at the Civic Center in December 2023 due to Clingan being out. So having in case of emergency players is a good thing.

.-.
Well if he's anything like Youssouf Singare he should not be anywhere near the court against a top 15 team...
D Koroma is not a Singare player. He is capable player for 3 or 4 minutes at a time, depending on the game situation.

Correct. He's in his 6th year of college basketball, which began in 2020 at Iona. He'll be 26 years old in April. He's not a Singare. Hurley would not have added him to the roster if he didn't think Dwayne couldn't give us a few minutes in a emergency type situation.

Good call. He got in for garbage time. Who'd have expected garbage time minutes against St. John's?

LOL. Never in my wildest dreams I would've thought the result would be UConn demolishing St. John's like that.

We didn't really miss Stew much last night. Starters got a ton of minutes last night in that blowout, Ross with the only bench piece to get more than 7 minutes at 17.

True. we cant treat his absence as a factor though. That's specious reasoning.

It is obvious, with AK's whole career as testament, that when the team is in sync everybody's game is elevated. It's not a coincidence that Malachi, AK, Solo, Ross and Silas had great games last night. We are a system team. So likelihood is that Stew will start having great games as this great team play continues.
His best game was arguably the Marquette BET game with the '24 team. Go figure

I know Malachi is short but you should still be able to see him!
