I agree that it's laughable that the Todd Golden situation is basically being kept secret by the media, while The Dan Hurley story is everywhere. I hadn't even heard about the Golden thing until I read it here and then I had to search online to read about it. I can't even turn on my computer without being bombarded with articles about the latest Hurley thing.Does he not do all of those things in your last sentence? No disagreement that he's a sore loser. But where is this level of criticism for coaches who are doing actual terrible things? Why are we spending time crying about Hurley saying "immature" things all while praising coaches who beat their girl friends and provide recruits with coacaine? The same networks hanging Hurley this week are simultaneously writing puff pieces on Chris Beard and Rick Pitino. It's hypocritical and it reeks of agenda driven jealousy. To put it simply. people don't like succesful people who aren't quiet about there success because it makes them feel insecure. Nothing Dan Hurley has done or said is actually hurting anyone. To the contrary he's changed hundreds of lives for the better. The media could've simply decided to focus on the out pouring of love he showed for his players after the game. His advocation for mental health. The way he actually treats people when you get a chance to meet him. Instead they chose to engage in fake outrage and I wish our fans whom this guy has provided so much joy for would stop engaging in it. He has done everything to earn our respect and loyalty. He loves these fans, this university and his players. We should be the ones on the frontline promoting that truth. It's weird and unfortunate that actual fans of this program are drinking the kool aid.
That's my rant. And hopefully if I can practice enough restraint I'll never speak on it again. Lol
Golden exhibited sick deviant behavior while Danny said something that people find objectionable.
