Saw Toomey on local TV for the first time. Great touch, nice hands on offense and defense, moves well. Nice instincts on the offensive boards but not great aggressiveness on the defensive glass. She keeps her hands at her sides too much in the post and doesn’t call for the ball. I think she’ll be really good and local basketball people say she’s going to UConn.

Don’t you dare speak ill of our friend C!!
Go to your room and pray for forgiveness!

Have watched 3 of C’s games. She sure can shoot and has a pretty good handle for a big. While I think she’s capable of running the floor I really haven’t seen her do it much. Also agree defense will be a work in progress.

Defense is a struggle for almost every incoming freshmen. Can we ALL agree on that and not bring it up ALL the time. College is a different animal than HS. Right?

Ciera Toomey and Dunmore were supposed to play a marquee game against a top-10 team in the nation today but it was postponed.

We need guards badly.

For 2023 we have “KK”
Besides being the #1 and #2 recruits for 2023

Is there any mutual interests from Mikayla Williams and / or Juju Watkins? I see Mikayla is from LA.. maybe Kim & LSU? :(

I hope and pray that there is mutual interest between Mikayla Williams and UCONN, otherwise my prayers of the last 18 months will have gone unanswered. Watkins is a very talented player that had/has UCONN interest. Williams is drawing comparisons to Maya the magnificent.

We have a lot of slots open next year. Lots of opportunities for new signings.

You must be new around here. We need BIGS!!

Ice has a decent step back for sure. I don't see her use conventional post player moves under the basket as much though. She settles for the jump shot a lot. I absolutely agree that she is a terrific prospect though. She seems like a real nice kid also.

I continue to marvel at Brady's footwork. Truly elite for a player at any position. Very few here will realize how hard it is to achieve this level of proficiency.
The first things I noticed two years ago were the footwork, court awareness, and her ability to react quickly to what the defense gives her. She has no hesitation to shoot or make her move as soon as it’s there. That’s BB IQ that most college players don’t have.

Just left Sierra Canyon. Spoke with a source close to the program. Randolph looking at UCLA very closely but no decision yet (it’s too early). JuJu Watkins very hush hush. That’s all I got for now.

one thing I've learned from this season is that you can have all the 6'4" -6'5" players you want but if you can't get them the ball inside they might as well be 5'5"...........:(

Also need players to move off the ball as UConn used to be the gold star example of but not this current team. Also need post players that have offensive post games. ONO really doesn't save for that turnaround jumper. Edwards does; I saw it in HS. Hopefully, it manifests soon.

This one was interesting to watch. I am not as high on Ice as many. I do think she has good footwork. However, she also is a bit slow. I started to change my mind watching this clip, thinking dang she isn't slow afterall. But then I realized the video is not at normal speed ... its sped up. Going back again to watch all her previous videos, I still worry that she is going to be a bit slow when she gets into the college game. For a big, she has a good perimeter shot, and she can handle the ball well. So, hopefully I am totally off and it all translates well at the next level. But I do have concern about her speed.

Larry Bird was relatively slow too. But when you have strong fundamentals, know where you are, and know how to set up a defender with subtle moves and ball fakes it can sometimes work to your advantage. Try to move too fast like Juhasz tends to do down low and you get out of control and balance. Brady can feel and read the defense and doesn't rush. I think she's going to draw a lot of fouls inside posting up and kill people from 15-18 feet. I'm not worried about her foot speed because she knows where she's going and doesn't waste steps wandering. Plus she'll be in much better condition after a summer at UConn.

Stef Dolson. Slow but outstanding footwork.

When looking at kid's high school videos, if it looks like a ton of jump shots I want to know how many misses also. If it looks like it's mainly the ability to get to the rim, will that translate to college level defenses? I want to see quickness if they are primarily a player who scores by driving to the rim. If that's all they have then that's a problem also, but if they are extremely quick that presents so many problems to the other team. Some players just are near impossible to defend off the dribble.

If it's post player I want to see post moves and also the ability, ideally, to hit a jump shot but again, at what percentage? A player can look real awesome if we never see any of her misses. Ice is clearly for real though and I think she is willing to work hard and keep getting better. She's still a relatively raw and undeveloped talent even with her advanced high school level skills. She will continue to improve with great coaching and better conditioning. Look at Paige. She is a completely different player now than she was just a couple years ago. Her work ethic has taken her to another level.

Ayanna, who to me is rougher in terms of skill level but maybe an even better overall athtlete, should model herself after Baylor's Naylissa Smith. That should be her goal. Both she and Ice appear receptive to training and willing to work hard. They both have great potential.
