He is solid offensively, too in the pick and roll and on post ups near the basket using both hands. He is much better than Clingan now. I hope Clingan watches Kalk and learns and develops like him.
 
I think teams put a big circle around us on their schedules. Lappas did a great job as the color man. Said Creighton was forcing Boum to go left. Why does Newton play every guard straight up? Very easy to drive with your strong hand when defended like that. Force players to use their weak hand. Jackson and Hawkins the same thing. We are just not a good defensive team. Earlier in the year Clingan would just stand still and block shots. Now he leaves his feet. Karaban can’t guard in the block.

How did Boum play 36min and only score 2pts on 5 shots?

It’s laughable the silliness we face in these last 7 games. Even a 45% 3pt shooter like Boum has only a 1.85% chance of draining 5 3s in a row. Naturally he does it vs us.
 
Looking at the talent of these teams I'm not super impressed were they are so much better than UCONN. I really think it comes down to the coaching. I'm really starting to question whether Hurley is good enough of a coach to get us to the promised land.
 
Good game so far. DePaul’s guard looks good. Marquette plays so well together

He was wide open on every shot. People have to stop with the “everyone saves their best for Uconn” schtick. How bout there wasn’t much resistance in any of our losses??

You’re my favorite because all you do is dislike my posts, and use zero logic. It's pretty funny to watch. The best is that you hide/delete your trash takes. If Hurley is such a good recruiter why doesnt he beat ranked teams on the road? Why is his winning percentage in close games close 29%? Why hasnt he won a game in March while at UConn? Why does he have so many transfers? Can you answer any of these questions?
 
I just saw final 84-67 Creighton win over Xavier. Looked quickly at the box score.

Creighton had 5 in double figures. Boum shat the bed.

Guess good for UCONN if, IF we can beat Creighton along with other before we meet them

This is what happens when Xavier doesn’t make every single three they throw up. Great shooting beats good defense every day - contrary to what some on this board would like the narrative to be after last game

I hide and delete my bad takes? I don't even know what you're talking about. Even if I wanted to do that for some reason, you can't delete a post after 15 minutes.

I could answer the other questions and will do it after I figure out what you're even talking about with that other BS

Xavier is a very good team not a great team . Creighton at full strength is very capable .
I still think Creighton makes the deepest run of the Big East teams .
Ironically we match up with them pretty good . For you casual fans if you think of BB as similar to Rock ,Paper , Scissors you have at least an idea of the importance of matchups.
They have the best “prepare your team for one game coach” in the Big East . Cooley is number 2
Miller 3 , Skaka 4
Hurley is a huge ?.

As impressive as McDermott is, was equally impressed at Miller’s ability to get consistent offensive consistency out his teams. But you hit on big concern. Hurley trailers McDermott, Cooley, Miller and Shaka. He has games coming up needs to bring home some ”statement” games this year

I’m not BB savant some of you are, but this should be expected and mitigated by Dan Hurley ….have a Plan B always Dan Hurley. Hoping he’s had some time during this small gap in games to make adjustments.

Thinking more use of the Sanogo and Clingan combo????
 
foul trouble on X. Nudgie and Freemantle had 2 in the first half and had to sit. More "Home Cooking" in the NBE? Why don't we get it??

You should watch the Miami-Pitt game. Canes were raining 3s in 2nd half (47.1% from 3 for game). But Pitt made stops in closing minutes when it counted, scoring the last 11 points. The held the all-world Isaiah Wong to nothing in final 5 minutes and forcing Wong into two TOs in final 40 seconds. Miami only had 4 shot attempts (2 from three point) in final 5 minutes, only making a dunk.

IOW, defense can win too, even against hot shooters.
 
As I watched game it reminded me how far we need to go to be a serious contender for BE Championship and or deep run NCAA Tournament.

Yes we beat Creighton but let not forget it was for the first time since we joined the BE conference.

What I saw Creighton do today, would love to see more of from UConn including:
  • Play defense without leaving your feet on every play and fouling all game long
  • Beat players to the spot of the floor on D / keep game in front of you.
  • When you get up on an opponent, don’t get sloppy with lazy passes and wild shots.
  • Make short range shots consistently without clank after clank.
  • No “show boating” ie. staring down players after a made shot, walking into opposing coach on sidelines or wrestling the ball away from another player after whistle blows.
  • Play with focus and poise, spread the floor.
  • Make your free throws and try to win the game!
We will need to tighten the ship and change the culture just a bit if we want to make serious Run of any kind this year. I am hoping it happens this year.
