Agreed. That was the point I was making in a different post and the reply I got was Michigan is Great. They are good but USC had so many self inflicted, unforced errors. Like the Big East this year, the Big 10 isn’t very good.

Agreed. Don't get me wrong, Michigan has terrific athleticism, plays really hard, and can score in bunches. However, they have their struggles from 3, can be worked over by a good offensive team that can work clock and move (Hurley-style offense), and for understandable reasons plays like a confident bully. Will be interested to see how they react if and when a good team punches them in the mouth. Certainly they are formidable, but can they keep this up all year.

UM is the best defensive team in the country right now, by every metric. UConn is generally 2.

They beat the number 6 team in the country by 40 on a neutral court, a team with a better KP than us.

I don't think Reed gets Lendenborg. He'll get Mara. I think they'd throw Stew or Ross on him. He plays the 3 for them, so him vs Mullins to start.

The B10, is one of the two best conferences, by a good margin. Need to just stop with this. They have UM, MSU, Illinois, Purdue, Nebraska.....

Ross will draw Lendeborg, otherwise you’re not getting anything from AK that night.

If you think Gonzaga is better than UConn, I don't know what to tell you. I don't care what Ken Pom says. And, by the way, Michigan hasn't come close to playing the level of competition UConn has this year, nor has Gonzaga for that matter. I am knocking Michigan, but you have them as the greatest team of this century the way you defend them and attack others who simply post that USC is not a top 25 team. Not sure you really read my post.

That's what I was getting at. I wanted the poster who said Reed would cover Lendeborg to realize on his own that really wouldn't work.

what position do you think Lendeborg plays? You put Reed on him and it's gonna look Drummond trying to check Royce White all over again.
 
Haven't seen much of Nebraska, but kind of skeptical when you're rolling out a team that is reminiscent of a team from the 50's, if you know what I'm saying. When is the last time that ever made a dent?

Lendeborg and Morez Johnson would be really tough assignments for AK/Ross/Stewart but those are the guys who would be guarding them.

If we play them Michigan would have the advantage down low and UConn would have the advantage on the perimeter.

Maybe at MSU the stars could align and they give Michigan a fight, but watching a little MSU vs. Nebraska after watching Michigan makes me think Michigan will stomp out both of these teams with relative ease. I think Cameron Boozer on an absolute heater could give them a loss, but other than that, they look like they’re poised to sweep up the rest of the season (until they run into UConn in the postseason, of course).

But again, it’s basketball and anything can happen on a given night. The same way I believe UConn can and should sweep the BE, chances are a loss will be mixed in somewhere for UM and us.

I've noticed whenever Mich comes up on here that there's very few posters that are actually watching them play because folks keep suggesting cross matches that don't make a lick of sense with what they're trotting out there on the floor.

Those games you mentioned were at the beginning of the season, simple as that.

How are Ross or Stewart gonna cover Lendeborg if we’re presumably playing our normal starting lineup?

To SJ's point, do our best and see how the mismatch favors us offense. If it's out of hand, bring in Stew/Ross.
 
As good as Michigan looks, Gonzaga is not doing them any favors right now, down 8 at the half at home to Seattle (who’s shooting 37% FG).
Also keep in mind that Creighton got 30-pieced by Gonzaga.

Really? Let’s see. We already beat MSU and Illinois. Purdue was overrated before they lost a game they should have won. So I’m not buying the Big 10 is superior. And honestly, you said Michigan has the number 1 defense but have they played a strength of schedule better than us with Quad 1 wins over Florida, Illinois, Kansas, BYU and Texas?

They wouldn't be in the starting lineup guarding them but they both play big minutes and they will be guarding Lendeborg and Morez Johnson. We would have to put Braylon on him to start with.
 
Seattle up 8 on Gonzaga @ the half in Spokane. Washington isn't that good but was still impressed with Seattle when they beat them a couple of weeks ago, the WCC is more competitive than usual this year between Gonzaga, St Marys, Santa Clara, San Francisco and Seattle.

In the NCAA Tournament better guard play usually prevails.

It might be a game worth exploring the possibility of starting Stewart or Ross just for the sake of matching up with their size.

I wanna see how Morez and Yaxel manage chasing our shooters around screens for 40 minutes though, we might be able to out shoot them in a one game sample to pull off the upset.

My problem is outscoring them while having to play Stewart and Ross more minutes will be very difficult. Our best chance at beating them is Solo/Mullins/AK going nuclear from deep imo.
