James Bouknight | Page 2 | The Boneyard

James Bouknight

Finally hitting his 3's. Thats what ignited him. He needs to stay in the game and be the go to guy down the stretch.

He left good looks out there too. There were a number of possessions where he caught the ball at or near the key and the defender was 3 feet off with his hands down. He should have taken those shots, I was screaming at the TV “take the shot!” He is still deferring too much. He needs to understand he is option A for us. We are a better team when he’s taking the majority of our shots.

He had a fantastic game! That stretch he had made me think wow wait till next year after a full year and off season. For those of you thinking he’s a one and done.. no. He needs to learn how to play defense without fouling and shore up his handle. Wouldn’t be surprised if he left after next year but there’s nooooooo way he’s a one and done.
Amazing game from him and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this team with him playing for the good guys.

I hope Christian is able to pass the torch. Let James be the focal point, draw the defense, and Christian will have much better looks.
Been saying it all season and everyone jumps on my dang back. How about that?

One of the main reasons he needs more shots is that he has such good feel that even when he misses I like our chances to score. He often puts himself in a position to get his own rebound. Reminds me a lot of Rip.

This is the type of game that doesn't have me convinced he'll be here next year. Freshmen who average 15+ on 50% from the field normally go pro.

mr. b is a volume scorer. the more volume he gets, the more he will score, and all the while pretty, just pretty.

I’m still holding my breath on crowning the kid. He’s already good and could be a great one for us. He won’t be shooting 80% from three often though.

True. But he will sometimes. His stoke is very pure. There's no reason he should be well above 31%. Maybe over 40. With his ability an open three pointer should be close to a lay up.

Go unconscious Bouk!

Based on his change in aggressiveness in the second half you could definitely tell Hurley was looking for more assertiveness from him in the second half. It worked!

You could tell as soon as that first one went in that he was about to go off. These dogpoop announcers even picked up on it immediately.

He had that look in his eyes and was totally locked in without being over aggressive. He started pump faking and driving instead of throwing up a heat check 3.

That was such an awful call. Almost cost us game
Just an awful call. And you’re correct, changed the momentum and Tulsa went on to cut the lead to 1. Great poise by UConn to regroup on the road and put it away.
Let’s not talk to much about one and done. I’m really looking forward to Bouk playing with Jackson. That could be a lot of fun.
