Looking at Isaiah's story, he is in a high rise looking over the city, and it looks like Miami ordered a ton of room service and steaks to his room. James is in Hartford with a pizza box. let's hope the campus tour and course catalog seal the deal!!!!

Honest question, why do our recruits always stay in Hartford? Is the Nathan Hale Inn no longer a thing?

The Hartford Hilton/Marriott is a lot nicer than Nathan Hale. Maybe they plan on showing him around the XL and grabbing lunch at Capital Grille or something before heading to campus.

Maybe Hurley can spin it this way;

“Look, if you come here, you’ll be going to one of the few big state schools where basketball is king”
And he'll say, "Whamma lamma lamma lamma basketball is king!"

Welcome, James.
May your visit be successful for you & UConn.
If you're reading this message board thread, it may be a little difficult for your to get how happy we are that you are here, but that's the majority feeling.
Wishing you the best throughout your weekend.

And please don’t mind the ELO references. That’s just @Dove. You can tell him to shut up.

It's close to the airport.

I'm not positive, but staying at Hale might start the 48-hour clock.

Majority of the Nathan hale is used for student housing. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but just pointing it out.

Coach Calhoun used that narrative effectively for many years.

And he was a master at shifting the narrative about the location of Storrs. He would sell recruits on the ability to get away from distractions to help improve their game to get to the league, but also we had marquee games in big cities, so still maximum exposure.

That's just salesmanship. When I was visiting the University of Illinois and commented on the lack of things to do, they told me that was an advantage for faculty recruitment. It was a great place to get work done. Whereas their competitors on the faculty of the University of Chicago had a lot of distractions.
