He's a getting paid to play basketball, but he's not yet a professional basketball player.

Just because Bouk wants something doesn't mean it will or should happen - I don't have a perspective on if he should or shouldn't play more. He should be a grown man and deal with it, sometimes it doesn't go the way you want it to go. It happens in sports and in every other walk of life - just control what you can control - nothing is guaranteed. Fortunately for him he has an agent that can be an advocate with management on PT or getting traded.

I read through these threads on him and I get the picture of a diva that is talented on the court but has little to no idea how to be a teammate. Is that accurate, no idea.

What a load of crap this is. Yawn.

Unless you are in the Hornets locker room on a daily basis there is no way you know how he is as a teammate or if he is a "diva" or not. Just a ridiculous statement to make as an outsider.
Watch him when he's on the bench...does everything you want to see out of a good teammate...similar to what diggins is doing this year for us....but do we all have these opinions about Rahsool?

Irony.

There have been multiple people making the same dumb posts about Diggins too claiming he doesn't smile enough on the bench and doesn't care about his teammates/stand up for huddles. And happened with Akok last year, people seem to never learn

Yep. Apparently when a spark appears, the entire world will burn....there are no other outcomes on this board.

Jesus reading comprehension is not a strong point for you. - see the “I get the picture” and “seems like” - i did not say he was either of those things, but rather that’s how it appears.

Here’s what i do know the guy is not a transcendent talent like many want to make him out to be - he’s could he a good NBA player. He’s got to improve on being a professional basketball player whether you agree or not is up to you.

30+ years in sport actually. But the words were and are intentional - there’s a big difference between seems and know. Optics matter whether we want them to or not.

You said he isn’t professional basketball player which definitely implies what you think about him.

I’ve watched most Hornets games and I am a huge believer in Bouk but he’s just not ready to play meaningful minutes for a good team. He has a lot of trouble staying in front of guys at this level. His attitude on the bench could improve as well, his body language is horrendous, he’s often completely disengaged in the game.
The maturity issue, that Chief brought up a year ago and some marginalized, surfaces again.

Guys that overdo it on the bench are cool with not playing. I prefer guys that want to be on the court because they know they are good and put the work in . Be supportive. Be a good teammate. Get excited when you are legitimately excited. But nothing extra is needed

I agree you want guys who want to be on the court. But, it’s another thing getting into an argument with your coach as a rookie and having to be escorted off the court. This isn’t how you market yourself in the NBA. Having said that, James does have the talent, and Chief is hoping he has a good career. That starts with doing things the right way both on and off the court.

No. He’s a very good teammate.
Agree in some respects, but good teammates don’t put themselves in position to severely cramp up in the first half of a tournament game in their hometown when their team is counting on them. If you want playing time, you need to demonstrate you deserve it by doing the appropriate pre-game preparation.

He doesn't even know Bouknight is a professional basketball player. You're not going to get anywhere with this one.

Yeah I’m with you on things that lead to the cramping. But i mean his teammates like him and he treats them well. He has a charisma that all his teammates in college and the nba really seem to gravitate to him.

Yes, I never heard a teammate or family member of a teammate say anything negative about James. I do think he truly doesn’t appreciate the commitment the truly great ones make to be great at the professional level. I think the next step for James is to think more about how he can make his teammates better when on the court. That may take some self impose pressure off him and orientate James around team goals.

That “nonsense” has unfortunately been right compared to your take and his inexperience handlers. Chief wants the best for James and there was some evidence he had turned the corner on certain things but that has regressed recently. Hopefully, he will learn from this last incident and get back on track.
