Wait until next year when we don't have him.And that right there is the problem. We go as he goes and he doesn't go half the time. Even Jalen has admitted as much.

He deserves his kudos today he was very good. Need more of this though vs better teams. He’s the guy needs to live up to that.
He’s been better lately let’s see.
Yeah, that’ll teach me not to use words when I’m not sure what they mean. I meant to imply they were awesome.Hell, those guys had the consistency of rocks compared to this year's crew.

i'm kinda hoping the 'shirt tuck' thing goes national. big fun--people losin their minds over clothes. rock on, jmoney.LOVE that he has himself a game. His jersey is untucked in every picture of him that I see on twitter or Instagram tho. Seriously not a big deal but it is tacky.
The 2010-2011 team with Kemba had players like Lamb, Oriakhi, Roscoe, and young players like Olander. We have nothing close to that right now, to be fair.
Bazz had Daniels, an older Olander, Brimah, Kromah, and Facey.
The AA comment may have been too far, but the front courts are night and day apart...
Early 80's DePaul, bring back those Marquette style tops.i'm kinda hoping the 'shirt tuck' thing goes national. big fun--people losin their minds over clothes. rock on, jmoney.
Olander was almost worthless ( injuries) by his senior year other than as a cheerleaderCan’t forget Neil’s in 2014 - he was over 50% from 3 and could defend really well even at the 5 position and without fouling. No one comparable on this year’s team.
He has 27 in that game, and was plenty stoppable during the portion of the game when the outcome was actually determined, that’s superjohns point. He had 28 against Tulsa even sitting with fouls trouble. He was basically unstoppable unfortunately we couldn’t get s stop.
I think it was a mistake telling him he was a two as he was totally unsure what his job was. Lately he has been facilitating more maybe Hurley told him he was still the lead guard ,a role that suits him. The change has been noticeable.
but he’s as good as a lot of guards in the last 20 years who started at UConn and who were also blessed to play alongside All American caliber players in the fronfcourt.
Coached a First Team NH REG ALL STATE BB player in the smallest shool in the state and he wasn't my best ever player . That player was on a team that won the most games of any team I coached.
WINNING IS ALL THAT MATTERS NOT POINTS.
Because I was asked. I would take peak Jalen over the following former UConn guards who have played over ten games in the last 20 years. My criteria is who among the guards during their peak years would likely win more games than Jalen has and will with THIS ROSTER not how Jalen would fit on the rosters the players below were a part of.
Ricky Moore
Albert Mouring
Taliek Brown
Tony Robertson
Rashad Anderson
Craig Austrie
Jerome Dyson
Ryan Boatright
Rodney Purvis
Sterling Gibbs
Christian Vitale
Antwoine Anderson
Better than Jalen:
On a similar level:
- AJ Price
- Kemba Walker
- Jeremy Lamb
- Shabazz Napier
- Ben Gordon
Worse than Jalen:
- Khalid El-Amin
- Ricky Moore
- Ryan Boatright
- Taliek Brown
- Marcus Williams
- Tony Robertson
- Rashad Anderson
- Craig Austrie
- Jerome Dyson
- Albert Mouring
- Rodney Purvis
- Sterling Gibbs
- Christian Vitale
- Antwoine Anderson
I think this is more accurate than my assessment except I believe Marcus Williams was superior and although Jeremy Lamb is a significantly better pro prospect, I'm not sure he'd win more games with this current roster and would lean towards putting him at a similar level.Better than Jalen:

El-Amin and Marcus Williams are light-years ahead of Jalen. I would also take Boat over him.Better than Jalen:

EL AMIN???? He's better than Jalen on Moxy alone. Come on now.
So is Marcus Williams.
EDIT: El Amin. Really?????
This is just a real hot take. Real hot.Better than Jalen:

He’s a pretty good stat stuffer, but he's not the player/leader we need him to be. He’d be an excellent #2 option, which is not possible on this team. He’s honestly putting up his best shooting numbers of his career, shooting over 50% overall and close to 38% from three. His scoring average is identical despite playing 7 less minutes a game and having a few real clunkers (headband game). We complain that he disappears when things get tough and scores all his points in garbage time. If he did start trying to take over early those same people would call it “hero ball.”
Here’s another interesting Jalen tidbit: he currently has 1611 career points. That’s good for 16 all time. Ironically enough, Jerome Dyson is next on the list. If he scores his average for the next 13 games (reg season and at least one AAC tournament game) he’ll have 1865 good for 6th with a real shot at top 5. Granted he’s played 4 seasons compared to most other players in this stratosphere playing 3. However, he has not had the benefit of deep tournament runs.

I feel very strongly that some of the players mentioned would not thrive in Jalen's situation either what with the lack of front court and talent.
