Didn't realize he had insane hops like that. Similar to Boatshow that way?
Adams is a very good two footed jumper. Really explosive. Not sure it's exactly the same off of one foot.

You know mixtapes are mixtapes but man is it hard not to love this kid. Range, hops, explosiveness and swagger. He's a keeper.

Anybody else see a little Dyson in his game? Maybe his three point jumper that looks like a set shot.

Yep. That's the one thing I would hope to see him change a little...to shoot a consistent jumper with high release point on every shot, including 3 pointers. While at UConn, Jerome never really developed a jumpshot he could get off while defended. The set shot from deep was never consistent for Dyson and his somewhat low release point on his shot made him shorter than he was, so to speak.

.-.
I didn't see these comments from Adams and his coach at Cushing Academy in the Journal Inquirer posted anywhere last week. Good stuff.

“His national ranking is whatever it is. He’s in the 20’s or 30’s, I think,” Connors said. “I’m a little biased but if there are 26 better players out there, holy mackerel, I’d like to see those guys.”

Wow..been up in VT with no internet, and so I saw the tweet about Jackson decomitting for UGA before I saw this. I feel better now.

LOL imagine the meltdown that would have went down if Jalen had yet to commit

Well yeah, that's why I was shocked reading this thread. Suddenly the BY was singing "kumbaya" and being very mellow about losing Jackson on top of Ali (assuming he is lost). No tantrums, no blame Warde rants...just well wishes for Jackson. I thought perhaps I wandered into Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Then I saw the Adams commit thread.

I think part of that has to do with Turtle's poor play this past spring and summer and his huge drop in the rankings. People are thinking UConn didn't lose anything and opened a spot for one of the highly rated guards they are after.

5-11 for 11 points 2 boards 1 assist not his best game but his team won. I dont think theyve lost a game this year with him in the floor.

In only 17 minutes though. 11 points in 17 minutes isn't too shabby.

Also, it's not really his AAU team right now. It's randomized teams at his camp but he still isn't losing. Nice to see.

Have you heard anything about us getting involved with seventh woods? Aside from JA nobody on the circuit is a better system fit for us and with the UNC investigation and all...

Post-commitment effort

Even though Jalen Adams (UConn) and Justin Simon (Arizona) have made their college decisions, their effort, approach and productivity have not changed. In fact in some cases it has been better than before. Some prospects tend to coast a little once they make their decision, feeling they have arrived. Adams is too competitive to let that happen. He plays with a flair as a clever guard who can beat most defenders off the bounce and get into the lane and be a playmaker or scorer. Simon is a big point guard who pushes the ball with speed between the free throw lines looking to put pressure on a defense. He defends hard on the ball in a low and wide stance and looks to distribute and make his teammates look good on offense.

I started a thread a few weeks about how well he is playing. People I chat with say he is on fire this past spring and summer

First game at adidas Nations is in the books. His team, US Howard, beat adidas Canada 84-61. He had 6 points going 3-3 from the floor, with 3 rebounds, 3 assists. Here's the link for the box score: http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=57525&a=1

Jalen's team lost to Team Africa. He put up 8 points on 4-10 shooting (0-1 from three) with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 turnovers.

Thanks for the updates...are their other guys on their team taking the shots? Seems like they are not getting a lot of opportunities.

“@Devin_Ugland: Cushing Academy’s Jalen Adams has taken the reins for Team Howard early here vs. Asia-Pacific. Getting to the rim at will. #adidasNations”

“@ebosshoops: Jalen Adams is starting to go Jalen Adams. Finding his groove off the dribble and getting buckets. #adidasnations”

“@WhoGotNextG: Jalen Adams has been showing solid passing and scoring ability off the pick n roll #adidasnations”

Had 13 points last night on 6-12 shooting (1-2 from three) with 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 turnovers.

Yeah, he is also playing with Justin Simon (Arizona), Chase Jeter (top 10 big man), Bennie Boatwright and Derrick Jones so there are plenty of scoring options.

Adams is currently sitting out his game with leg cramps.

From Rivals:

Over the past couple of months, Adams has gotten much stronger. The addition of a power game to go along with his already tremendous first step, skilled ball-handling and ability to make tough shots makes him a load. He is a master of the pull-up jumper and plays with unwavering confidence.
