I'm with you, Dove! I know it's early but it seems like it's been 3 years since I've seen this much intensity from the team, let alone from our Coach. Every time they cut to Dan I can't help but make a comparison in my head to JC.

mmmm....First half of the season so some rust is expected. I liked the tempo, not walking the ball down the court after a make but really pushing it but 8 turnovers shows there are some kinks to work out. Gilbert was trying to do a little too much a few times when he could have just laid it in. Good intensity on D but Morehead had too many second chance points and open shots too (as Hurley said, rebounding was an issue). I liked the interior D and the blocks. Probably more assists in this half than some games last year, which is good...But again, I want to see Uconn come out in the second half and punch the Eagles in the mouth. Looked like they were going to pull away for a while, getting the lead as high as 13....but down to 4 by the end of the half, kind of disappointed in that.

Room for improvement but confident it will occur. Lets see how the boys react after Hurley talks to them for 15 minutes at the half, see how they come out. Hopeful Uconn can extend this back to 12 to 15 by the second TV timeout.

Did you see how this exact team played last year? There is so much to be excited about that my enthusiasm is through the roof. My expectations are realistic, although slightly elevated. But I haven't been this happy in a long time. Who cares about the score or the opponent. Everything is different, only beginning with my enthusiasm.

There are two major differences between this year and last. We will win some games we are underdogs in and we wont lose to inferior opponents.

Until a team like Morehead becomes a victim of a 30 point blow out, UCONN is not back. Squeaking by with a 10 point win is not enough. Granted, Hurley doesn’t have the horses yet, but this is far from UCONN expectations
