Add Donyell, Rip and Ray. The fact that they didn’t play on a team that won a championship doesn’t mean they weren’t GREAT individual basketball players. Larry Bird never won a college championship. Neither did Barkley, Chris Mullen, SGA, Zach Edey, Shaq, Curry, etc. Kevin Durant, Kevin Garnett, etc., etc., etc.A GOAT type has to be able to create his own shot, and utilize that skill when the shot clock is winding down. He’s just not that guy. Kemba, Bazz, Newton, Ben, Emeka, and Adama are all higher on the list in crunch time.
On the other hand, we do know that Tyler is better than Jim Beoheim. Why not ask if Tyler Olander is a better than Okafor
Yeah, in fact, Kevin Garnett didn’t win a single college game in his whole career!Add Donyell, Rip and Ray. Andrew Hurley might need consideration too. Not only did he get 2 rings, but UConn was undefeated in games he played in his entire career!I'm unsure how he dethrones Olander

Can the board stop taking shots at Syracuse? We all know that Syracuse has become irrelevant and meaningless. UCONN's six national championships have put Syracuse so far in UCONNs rear view mirror. On the other hand, we do know that Tyler is better than Jim Beoheim.
It's like you don't know us at all.Can the board stop taking shots at Syracuse?
Not just alone at UConn, alone in the 40 years of modern day college hoops. The GOAT is not the best player at the pro level. The UCONN GOAT, to me, means just that. Are there more talented players that have played at our amazing alma matter? Yes. But if he wins one more, he will stand alone in terms of having 3 rings. That trumps the impact that any other player had at UConn. Let us not forget that the only thing we all care about is winning. Other programs are feeding institutions to the NBA. We just win. And that is all we care about.
I've always taken the greatest of all-time to be the best player of all-time at the pro level. If you're just basing the current GOAT on championships which is what you're doing the GOAT at UConn would shared by Tyler Olander, Shabazz Napier, Niels Giffey, Tristen Newton, Donovan Clingan, Alex Karaban, Samson Johnson, and Hassan Diarra. The GOAT is not the best player at the pro level. Never kick a (school) until it's down. It's like you don't know us at all.
What we can do and what we choose to do are not necessarily the same. Can the board stop taking shots at Syracuse?

Continuing to take digs at them somehow makes it seem that they are relevant to UCONN and college basketball.
No!Can the board stop taking shots at Syracuse?

My bad. Sorry.Point taken but also point of contention on Rip.
For us old-time Huskies, we remember all the unheralded players that came in and set the stage for what we have now. Alex came into a great program and it’s done great things, but the third ring would only put him as one of those great all-time Huskies. There are so many other great players that never walked away with the ring. But certainly Alex will be remembered is a great contributor to the program no matter what he does this year.Title says it all. He would obviously be the only UConn player with three rings. Flip side is he would (likely) be, for each of the three titles, a complimentary 2nd or 3rd scorer apart of a deep and balanced team.
