The GOAT is not the best player at the pro level. The UCONN GOAT, to me, means just that. Are there more talented players that have played at our amazing alma matter? Yes. But if he wins one more, he will stand alone in terms of having 3 rings. That trumps the impact that any other player had at UConn. Let us not forget that the only thing we all care about is winning. Other programs are feeding institutions to the NBA. We just win. And that is all we care about.
Not just alone at UConn, alone in the 40 years of modern day college hoops.

If we win it all again season (assuming no injuries to AK), he will have started on three championship teams. No male player since the tournament expanded to allow multiple bids from one conference can say that.

While that won't in and of itself make him the greatest ever, it still would be a truly amazing accomplishment.

I've always taken the greatest of all-time to be the best player of all-time at the pro level. If you're just basing the current GOAT on championships which is what you're doing the GOAT at UConn would shared by Tyler Olander, Shabazz Napier, Niels Giffey, Tristen Newton, Donovan Clingan, Alex Karaban, Samson Johnson, and Hassan Diarra.

I can name two dozen players I've watched who were better than Karaban at UConn and more than that for several of the other UConn players with two championships.

Can the board stop taking shots at Syracuse? We all know that Syracuse has become irrelevant and meaningless. UCONN's six national championships have put Syracuse so far in UCONNs rear view mirror.

Continuing to take digs at them somehow makes it seem that they are relevant to UCONN and college basketball.

Add Donyell, Rip and Ray. The fact that they didn’t play on a team that won a championship doesn’t mean they weren’t GREAT individual basketball players. Larry Bird never won a college championship. Neither did Barkley, Chris Mullen, SGA, Zach Edey, Shaq, Curry, etc. Kevin Durant, Kevin Garnett, etc., etc., etc.

Point taken but also point of contention on Rip.

I’ve said this before, but for some reason I can see Karaban coming back to be the UConn Head Coach in 20 years.

I don't know about that, but I can kind of see Cam Spencer doing it.
