Geno said a ND player said something to one of our players after the semifinal game last year which has caused bad blood btw the teams.

Did I miss something?

Apparently, there was something back in the bowels of the arena that went uncovered by the horde.

I'm sure they're on it now, now that GA has let it out of the bag... interesting decision on his part.

Yes. Maybe he's trying to motivate fans to be loud Monday night?

He's up to something because he also mentioned the game won't look like other games, or whatever it was he said. I'm guessing he wants a loud, hostile crowd at the game.

Not a good move on his part. Too much like Pat Summitt - accusations without offering anything else.

Exactly -- he withheld the player's identity so that instead of the fans going "Boooo!!!" whenever that player touches the ball, they boo the entire squad for the whole game :D

I'm guessing Geno might be regretting mentioning that. Seems a little classless to me...he did look a bit beat during the whole show, though.

Geno has something planned that ND hasn't seen from us and probably doesn't anticipate.

A packed house will help but he has got something up his sleeve.

Who'd athunk Notre Dame would be our new Evil Empire???

How can you make that judgment without knowing the specifics of the incident? Obviously, something happened that Geno and the team did not like, so you would prefer that he pretend it did not happen?

Geno needs to be careful he'll get a call from the pope. Or Santorum.

Yeah...I caught that too... I immediately thought...okay which kid from ND... Peters? Mallory? Novesel? Can you see why I list them in that order? What ever happened it has been enough that it got under Geno's skin... He has made a few comments regarding ND of late that may have been born out of that incident... His comments about UConn never fouls but goes to NCAA semis in 2011 and down to ND in 2012 and all they do is get called for fouls... Now this disclosure and his cryptic comment regarding you are going to see things that you have never seen before...make you go...hmmmm.....interesting....

Those involved know exactly what went on. No need to say.
The same applies to PS and GA. Do you agree that Summitt should be able to make public accusations without offering specifics? There was no reason for Auriemma to go public if as you say "those involved know . . ."

or perhaps he will be reported to the FBI. just ask DD about that...

Big difference btw a verbal dustup btw players and accusing a coach of cheating.

Yeah, I'd like to think he'd prefer to stick to basketball than stirring the pot. I guess I'm wrong. Sorry if I offended your Geno sensibilities...

"There's not a lot of love between us right now..."

"You're going to see a different kind of game on Monday..."

"There was an incident last year involving one of their players and our team..."

Not at all.

Did I miss something? I was under the understanding that Geno stated that a Notre Dame player said something towards a member of the team.... to which I included coaches as well. I am wondering if it is less player verse player, but might have been a rude comment towards the coaches etc.

Peters, Novosal, and Mallory are super seniors. This is their last year. They were able to get away with MURDER while in South Bend. But the other one I might question is Diggins. It appears that she has developed a "personality" in the last two years and not in a good way.

I hope UCONN shows Notre Dame what they are made of Monday... and again during the Big East Tourney.

I think wild, presumptive accusations about Notre Dame players is not useful.

Maybe what he has planned is the small lineup he played most of the Marquette game. Dolson and Stokes are apparently going to be on the bench for awhile.

The point is - what is the purpose of making a public accusation against a player on another team if you don't have the bells to identify that player?

Pat Summitt did exactly the same sort of thing with her "Geno knows" bullsheet.

Not the best idea Geno has had recently.

The purpose of the public comment was to rile up the fans as was already said. He wants a loud and in your face crowd to greet ND.

Why is it a bad idea? Why is it a negative. If Geno is stating a fact.......... Don't you think it would be more inappropriate to state who it was?

I was just thinking... Kelly Faris never lost a game in Indiana. Then she lost in the final four there. I would not be shocked if someone said something to her about that....
