And nothing says "big-time" better than 15,000+ empty seats each week. In a state with a shrinking population and slow-to-no grow economy, why the hell would we add seats that no one is calling for? Attractive scheduling just got harder, not easier with the last rounds of conference moves.
Rutgers added seats no one was calling for and they are in the B10.

And you think that's the reason they got in?? Really? Rutty got in for one reason, their proximity to NYC...and no, ours is not quite the same. Also they have a much larger state population so their expansion risk is not the same as ours. Plus, do you know how many tickets they have to virtually give away each game? Rutty got lucky and lucky is not a great business plan.

Isn't it amazing that the original plans on how the Rent could be expanded have never seen the light of day? Maybe someone could FOI them. Maybe the expansion could be done differently than the originals. Why not at least put them out for public viewing and then the Whaler responsorial pslam about how we have no money to do it? It would at least be a topic of conversation.
