I was at Santa Anita when Spectacular Bid broke the world record for 10 furlongs on dirt... It had stood for no less than 29 years!
If that counts, I was in Ted’s. I don’t think it counts.I was on the UConn campus visiting
when Tate hit the shot. Campus went crazy.
That’s historical, besides the win.Thought the thread was non-UConn related but ok, I’ll add another. 30-0 run.
So was Wells that day.David Wells perfect game. 5/17/98. Beanie baby day. Went with my sister and twin 12 year old nieces. Sat in the Loge section down the first base line. Was extremely hung over from the night before. Fell asleep in my seat from the 3rd to 5th innings. Perked up real fast when I woke up and realized what was going on. The last 4 innings were amazing.
One of the heaviest tragedies in sports.I was at Daytona when Earnhardt died at the 500.
We had seats in the back stretch close to the start of turn 3. About 20-30 laps earlier there was a crazy multi-car crash on the backstretch. Cars flipping the air. Cars on fire. And everyone made it out of that crash fine. When Earnhardt hit the wall he was behind the leaders and the crowds attention was to see who won. The Earnhardt crash was an afterthought.
We left the track and were stuck in traffic leaving the parking lot when a girl got out of a Earnhardt themed black Chevy Monte Carlo wearing a black #3 Earnhardt jacket and started screaming "Dale's Dead!!!". We started fumbling around on the car radio to get more info.
The 6 OT game was my ultimate. It felt like a dream because I had already spent 4 hours that afternoon at Stouts before whatever the first game was. I'm pretty sure I remember west virginia...I DO remember being hungover by the time regulation had ended because msg had cut us off.6 OT Game
San Antonio 2004

Many many BET games
And yes, the Butt Fumble too. When I got home and watched ESPN I laughed my @$$ off. They didn't show those lowlights at the game

Gregg Morrison aka Butter, the ball carrier, lived on my floor in Stowe C. A walk-on from Madison CT (I was at the game also)I was at the UConn football 1984 game where the Morgan State assistant coach came off the sideline to tackle the UConn player running towards the end zone. One of the craziest things I’ve ever seen at a sporting event.
Saw a triple play, Indians at Yankees, 5/23/81.
Oh are you ready?Have you ever gone to a random sporting event and caught a classic, famous or infamous?
Did you buy a ticket to a regular season baseball game and see a no-hitter?
Did you go to the butt fumble game?
*Playoff, tourney games, superbowls, world cups etc. are all amazing events to attend. However, For the purpose of this thread, try to include only the games you went to where something particularly memorable happened out of the blue.
I know that every uconn win is special, but try to include games where something happened besides simply your team winning.
I've been to a few but here's the one that sticks out the most:
I was randomly in the 10th row at a Nets-Bulls regular season game (Brendan Byrne) when Rodman headbutted the ref.
What did you see?

Was at MSG for a Rangers game as a 12 year old with my dad. At the end of a December regular season game the bruins crawled into the stands and fought the crowd. I’m in this video, you can see me as Mike milbury starts hitting the guy a couple seats down from me over the head with his own shoe. You can see my pants in this video. What do I win?
Btw that’s why we left msg a couple nights ago chanting “ we want Boston” Because I never forget, but the bruins suck too much to face us.
saved Borden's milk carton coupons for a free ticket and was also at this 9/20/69 no hitter.Bob Moose no-hitter against the Mets on Saturday, September 20, 1969
