Cant say i love the behavior. JC did some of the same stuff. Cant recall any stories of the police escort needing to tell JC to cool it.

Probably needs an assistant coach or someone else reminding him to chill as he enters/exits the arena.

Twelve years is a long time to put up with PC fans’ nonsense. Do I think it‘s funny that those fans always piled on Hurley while insisting that their guy (Cooley) was a stand-up, phenomenal guy? And now they hate him, too? Yeah, I do. Hurley pulls the occasional jerk move on the court, but he’s legit a good person. We’re all works in progress.

It is probably personal with him. During a podcast at last year's Final Four, his wife said that she would never go back to Providence because Providence fans were spitting at her and throwing beer. She said something to the effect that if you were a Uconn fan and an balloon knot, "go up the road to Providence."

About 5 1/2 minutes in.

I love Andrea. "Jabrones!" :D

Ah okay, didn’t know about this so it makes sense. I just don’t want anything to happen to him. People are fudging crazy these days.

Sorry just got out of a colonoscopy and am a little loopy.
That’s funny, so did I , it went well I hope.

Frankly, he should ignore the asses. I know the “Jersey” rough edges thing. They used to say “names will never hurt me” , which is not always true but in this case it really is. Inviting trouble with a bunch of probably drunken idiots. Not that big a deal, but being the adult in the room is ok too.

His is not a job that invites or demands decorum. Samsons grin said it all. “He’s our Coach and he’s got our back.”

How do you think the kids would feel if he turned the other cheek while telling them to be junkyard dogs? How do you think his wife would feel if he didn’t address her treatment? As an Exit 9 guy, find his behavior understandable and tolerable.

You didn’t see him having problems after Marquette game did you?

I gotta say that going a bit extra like this is part of what makes Danny what he is. he is a fierce competitor and he doesn't hold back.

As long as thing don't ever get out of hand (physical) I don't mind the occasional exchanges. If anything, it adds to rivalries and drives entertainment. These personalities that we have in the league add to the Big East as whole.

Again, as long as things don't get violent I'm goood!

I see it both ways, he's only encouraging them or other opponents fans to say stuff because they know he'll act on it. I dont really have a problem with him reacting that way, i think a lot of us would but its like internet trolls, they are looking for a response, if you dont respond or pay them any attention, their power goes away.
I bet this is a fan base Cam could trash talk.

He’s a 50 something millionaire spectator sports coach in places where beer is sold. It’s an unfortunate part of the territory. He should ignore it. If it’s a problem he can tell the security people. People feel such a need to be confrontational where ignoring makes way more sense. Last thing UConn needs is a coach fighting with a fan.

In many cases I would agree that DH should have ignored it but this case is a bit different. Their fan's (especially when it comes to us) are absolute a**wipes (a saw a social media clip yesterday of a 60+ year old yelling at every UConn fan around after the game) and have crossed the line more than once with his family.

Gutter of a state, gutter of a fan base.

I will say, their fans have much more fight than their players.

Glad we sent them to the NIT.
still better than Pitt

I love the "Don't take chit attitude". .He is not a librarian, he is a basketball coach who has to hear vulgarities about his wife.
Is there anything lower than a Providence men's basketball fan? Don't think so.
