Hurricane Irma Causing Games To Be Rescheduled/Cancelled

10 games for UCF? Utterly insane. And I can't comprehend not switching the home and home.

Yes, yes, in the wake of the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic coming ashore as a 4, then again as a 2, the football is what matters.

Its not the football game. You don't just have the teams show up with some refs and say "go play guys!". You need a MASSIVE public safety commitment- fire, police, ambulance- to staff the game?

So...DO YOU REALLY THINK STAFFING UCF-GEORGIA TECH IS THE BEST USE OF THEIR TIME RIGHT NOW?!?!?!?!?

Good God, some of you are utterly hopeless.

My mother is in Ft. Lauderdale. Aunt and uncle in Punta Gorda. Few downed trees with minimal damage. Never lost power (either of them). This was not the beast they were predicting. After sending Memphis back home and now this the level of incompetence at UCF is unbelievable.

Fortunately for them there's a bunch sanctimonious self righteous jack offs who provide then cover preaching from their high horse.

Oh, cool, everyone- it wasn't a bad storm, Jimmy's parents said so.

Problem solved.

Missing two games on the schedule for any reason including acts of god has to be (or should be) an automatic disqualifier from the AAC champ game, regardless of whether its in conference or a non conference game.

Need players to play?

Apparently many of the UCF football players are stuck away from campus and that is part of the cancellation along with them not come to ATL
Here's what I don't get...both UCF and USF stayed in FL to be close to family during the storm. But now, they can't field a team to practice and play? Obviously safety comes first but the planning was terrible. If USF/UCF spent the weekend outside of Florida they could've at least played 1 game versus missing 2. And check Twitter, UCF fans are pissed about this.

Can't wait for GA Tech to sue UCF and the AAC.

Stop it. They're not suing the AAC. The AAC has no role in the contracts between a member and a member of another conference.

But thank you for stirring the pot unnecessarily. That doesn't happen enough here.

This is what happens when you have a businessman as a governor and not a football fanboy.

Gov Scott identified all his HS and universities as resources for staging equipment and placing evacuees.

This makes prepping for a BCS game difficult.

The size of Irma over 3 days from Keys to Tallahassee is over 400 miles. No one thought Jax would be a primary target, yet it's getting flooded.

Over 6m without power.

Football as king in the south is taking a hit to its reputation in Sep 2017.

You know what they say: Florida isn't really the South.

bizlaw, help me out, will FIU be able to join the class-action lawsuit against, uh mother nature? The AAC? I can't even keep the absurd claims straight.

I believe its: UConn, Indiana, Illinois, some FCS schools to sue Miami, FIU, FAU, UCF, USF, Florida and another school to be named later

.-.
The irony of all this is if they played and could not get back on Saturday, they would likely be in a hotel in DR with UConn likely providing access to the Shenkman center of not putting them up on campus.

They would then have gone directly from CT to their relocated game at Illinois. Instead, they are in a disaster zone, their school is closed, they have limited access to facilities, and looking at a second cancelled game.
