As far as I can tell, Hurley has been ejected 5 times. Twice for URI, and 3 times for us (4th ever game vs Villanova, epic game at XL vs Villanova, last game). I couldn't find anything about him ever being ejected at Wagner. He does receive technicals at a pretty high rate, in the Calipari, Huggins, Bobby Hurley echelon for sure, but I think the big thing is just how publicized it is every single time. When Bill Self got ejected vs Arizona State less than a week ago, it wasn't even part of the news cycle.
I think it's tough because techs are at the officials' discretion and it's not consistent, which is made worse by Hurley certainly being on their radar. I'm not a Doug Gottlieb fan, but his recent controversy over a
tech (
relevant audio) was insane. He had no business getting assessed a technical in that situation, and then he was subsequently suspended for his post-game comments.
