It doesn’t really mean much to me because it’s 2 minutes of time for a guy who hasn’t played much in 6 games.

The expectation of him being perfect or going out there and instantly making a play happen in 2-3 possessions is illogical. Nobody will get better like that. Mistakes will happen.

Hell he could play 10 minutes next game and not breakout because it’s a process. There’s no instant results with this.

And that’s the annoying thing to me is that having a guy make one mistake can nail him to the bench for the rest of the game. Like damn, can’t even get a chance to learn from it and make it up? Then we’ll wonder why someone plays tight, anxious, and passive.
I agree - you can’t fairly evaluate guys based on 2 minutes of playing time.

Case in point - Nowell comes in first half - turns it over & gets beat on D first couple minutes. If Dan Hurley took him out there, board wouldn’t be saying anything good about him. But Hurley sticks with him longer, and Nowell settles down & makes a couple nice plays.

It’s one thing to have a quick hook for lazy play. But for guys that play tight because they never get much PT, I think benching them quick only makes them more tight & tentative.

Because 12-15 and a little bit of playing time in both half’s is absurd. 2 mins and 30 are the only options lol
Well how handy is that!

About 4 pages ago I presented you with his stats over a 14 game stretch in the middle of the season. He averaged 15 mpg over that time. Shocker! He was no good!

I can’t spell it out for you any simpler.

We’re going to agree to disagree. It’s okay.

I’ve already told you what we should do to help his development. You don’t think it’s worth it. It won’t matter either way if Hurley won’t even take the first step of playing him and ends up not being a part of next years rotation.

I just don’t know why Hurley created all this hoopla in the first place. Ross is the last person on the team who deserved to get pump faked like this.

No, you should just agree that you are WRONG. The abundance of evidence is against you. I’m sorry that your brother is getting mistreated in your eyes. But it’s time to give up. We are 28 games into the season. The light switch ain’t flipping.

The comment was maybe less about Ross and his abilities. It was perhaps more about Mahaney and what’s happening behind the curtain.

Here’s my theory - a guy who just rambles off the top of his head rambled off the top of his head and these media availabilities are hopefully being ignored by his team because they’re just a cascading series of slights and rug pulls.

Right. It’s not even close. Ross has had many chances to do his thing. Nowell has had very minimal
Neither seem on the level and Nowells dad yapping kills it for me. I want Abraham to get reps.

This tweet makes it seem like Hurley held a press conference just to say that, then walked away.

Ross got the ball one time in the half court set and literally couldn’t dribble, pass, or shoot the ball and got a 5 second call. Deer in the headlights. I think this reminded Danny why he wasn’t playing him.

Singare was always considered a project because he started playing late, and a lot of people were doubtful of Stewart because the level of competition he played in high school wasn't crazy high.

Ross won the NY state championship with Long Island Lutheran and seemed to have more experience playing better competition but didn't have eye-popping stats. A lot of people thought he'd be a more steady prospect whereas the other guys could grow into bigger roles.
Totally forgot Singare was even on team, oops… but yes Singare was definitely the project but if the three perimeter guys Ross was definitely the more long term prospect of the 3. And Stew played at a big time Seattle HS and one of the better AAU teams around. He lit it up at Nike showcases etc. do not remember anybody thinking he played against poor comp and most thought he was underrated as it was.

And now the revisionist history!!!
Huh? Of the four perimeter guys we brought in, Ross was definitely the project of the group. Ross was a three star recruit when he committed and in the 100s on all rankings. He rose a bit, but was still a ways behind Castle, Ball, and Stew.

Which is exactly what should have happened. Guy has no more reason to be out there than you or me.
Disagree. I think @superjohn would have popped that corner three.

In fairness, someone should have come to help Ross on that 5 second call. No one was anywhere near him. But I feel like I’ve seen more bad miscues like this more than any other year in recent memory. 5 second violations on inbounds, shot clock violations, shot clock Hail Marys, picking up dribble in terrible spots and getting trapped, simply getting stripped bringing the ball up the court, etc. Really frustrating stuff.
