There are a lot of people on here who love UConn but for whatever reason don’t love the head coach. That’s blatantly obvious to me.

So this needs its own post. So grateful for this guy not only saving our program but achieving such incredible greatness. Wouldn’t even consider trading him for anyone.
 
Who doesn’t love Hurley? Yeah, people bitch about his antics and maybe he loses his head every now and again…but it’s pretty clear everyone knows he’s the best coach in the country, for UConn, and most importantly will die on the court for his players.

He's the best coach in the sport (and when you factor in recruiting talent level/NIL compared to a lot these teams) it's not even close. Thank goodness he is patrolling our sidelines and will be doing so for the foreseeable future.

He's pretty damn good

I know we're good. Saw it out of conference early in the season. Didn't think we looked good almost the entire conference season. Hurley said we're good, it will show again out of conference. He was right again... he's usually right.

I'm happy as hell with an elite 8.

I'm good but now it's Hurley againt Scheyer. I kind of like that matchup for us. Coaching matters...

Season is a resounding succes with this win. Karaban has been huge in the biggest moments, Tarris is now a legitimate NBA draft dude...

I can't like this enough

Of course, I was a Hurley fan back in the day when he couldn't win a tournament game and he couldn't even win a close game, LMFAO

We need more adults in the room (read the world)

You could have Googled hyperbole and saved yourself a lot of trouble and frustration but "Sit down meatball" can't not be funny no matter how it's used.

If we assume "the sport" to be College Basketball, then, yeah, he's certainly the best coach in his family because Bob Sr. didn't coach at that level.

I think there's a compelling argument Pitino is the greatest coach in the game right now. I'm not convinced you can make a great case for anyone else above Hurley.

Nothing but the bipolar yard on a high after a good win. Half of the same people had nothing good to say about coach after any given loss.
The point is there’s way more wins than losses. Not crazy that the losses would leave a mark when there are so few of them

I gotta believe if there were more losses, there'd be an awful lot more marks.
 
Even seen UConn fans (or "UConn fans" (reddit) talk poorly about the guy.

But not just currently the best, he's inching towards top 10 ever in CBB.

Fun with numbers. This is Hurley's 3rd Sweet 16 in 16 years. He is the most accomplished division one men's basketball coaches in the tournament over the past four years. There are many current coaches who have made more Sweet 16 appearances in the past 16 years.

Bottom line: Hurley has been a great coach over the past four years, with the exception of last year. He's a work in progress, and there's nobody I'd rather have coaching the UConn men.
 
Yes if we lost more he wouldn’t be considered as good. Hard to argue with that

After the first half dozen or so games last year, he wasn't even considered good by most posters here. That's my point.

There are a lot of people on here who love UConn but for whatever reason don’t love [insert any given player]. This has been true for me since 1998.

My problem will always be the imbeciles who condemn a coach or player after a few bad games. A close second are the people who wanna put a coach player on a pedestal after just a few really good games.

Cherry picking rarely end well for the cherry picker.
