I thought this was buried 6 weeks ago? Leave it to Mike DiMauro to stir the pot. I'd love to know who his sources are. I hope Hurley confronts him about it. Maybe he can start the conversation by asking DiMauro how BC is doing in basketball since their move to the ACC.

"All I'm going to say is that I've not had a text message, a phone call, a conversation, a meeting at any point this year, from anyone at the university that hasn't either wished me a Merry Christmas, a Happy Thanksgiving, a Happy New Year, a 'great win' or 'keep pushing coach,'" the UConn men's basketball coach told CT Insider following the Huskies' 68-60 win over Georgetown on Saturday.

On Friday night, Day of New London sports columnist Mike DiMauro replied to another post on X by saying: "Just so you know: Hurley was called into the university president's office after Maui and was told to knock off the behavior. This is from solid campus sources."

Let's stop giving oxygen to the fire. DiMauro's biggest fear is fading into oblivion. Hurley has it right- don't feed the trolls.
I agree. I wouldn't even link an article if it was from him. Just posting to confirm what a DB he is and Hurley had to respond to Borges's question.

Just don't engage with Mike on Twitter. He is constantly tweeting about UConn looking for engagement. Anyone that calls them self "BCGenius" and puts down people who went to "less prestigious" schools should be ignored

Small sample size but I met the president at a Road Show when she was acting. She introduced herself to us and we had a nice chat. That report doesn't pass the smell test to me.

Why is this a story now……must have been a slow news day. But if I had a coach who just led a team to the top of the sport two years in a row and is generating more revenue for your school than any other entity a good leader I would leave it alone.

Danny is more self aware than most successful people at least from what I have seen. He knows what to do and when to do it, and yes he gets caught up in the moment just like any super competing athlete or coach. He certainly has the ability to decide exactly where he wanted to go after the Maui situation.

I think that’s happening on its own. Gavin Keefe isn’t a UConn beat reporter any more and the only articles on the Huskies in the Day are AP articles or Joe Arruda articles from the Courant. Not sure what’s going on there but DiMauro may have to use that BC degree to get a new job.

The guy just won 2 national championships, including the most dominant tournament team since the tournament expanded. 3 games in Maui isn't going to result in a conversation with the president on the university other than "what can we do to support the guys?"

It was a silly rumor that deserved 0 attention from the beginning.

And that “prestigious” school got him a job covering sports at the New London Day? Sounds like a solid R.O.I. right there.
