Yup, Boeheim looks completely in control. Lol. Do you watch college basketball at all? We've seen hundreds of tirades like Hurley's in Maui.

1 tirade after a bad call at the end of a game isn’t the same as going off for three straight games all game.

What Hurley did in Maui wasn’t okay and it was unnecessary. His changed behavior shows and we’re all much better off for it.

What a crock. I grew up on those games too. Never saw Thompson or Rollie or Calhoun or Boeheim or Looie throw themselves on the floor and kick like a 2-year old. There was a certain level of “performance art” in what those guys did. But they were always under control. Hurley has lost control on occasion. Maui was such an occasion.
Have to question how many games you actually saw.

Hurley's final comment: "UConn fans: Engagement farming media, those people that are not legitimate, they're winning if you respond to what they're writing. Low-level journalism. Unfollow, and please leave it with, like, one or two likes. Don't engage that (junk).

Pretty much directly calls out DiMauro as being garbage.
Hit the nail on the head on that one.

Still can't ____ing believe we still rely on a guy with "BC" in his handle to be the print-media voice of the UConn program. Only in Connecticut.

Can we circle the ____ing wagons in our media please?

You may be way underestimating the Milton factor with him. With the way print media has been consolidated and regionalized, there's a real probability whomever is in charge of that paper doesn't even know he exists.

Time to bring in the Bob's and figure it out.

I thought this was buried 6 weeks ago? Leave it to Mike DiMauro to stir the pot. I'd love to know who his sources are. I hope Hurley confronts him about it. Maybe he can start the conversation by asking DiMauro how BC is doing in basketball since their move to the ACC.

"All I'm going to say is that I've not had a text message, a phone call, a conversation, a meeting at any point this year, from anyone at the university that hasn't either wished me a Merry Christmas, a Happy Thanksgiving, a Happy New Year, a 'great win' or 'keep pushing coach,'" the UConn men's basketball coach told CT Insider following the Huskies' 68-60 win over Georgetown on Saturday.

On Friday night, Day of New London sports columnist Mike DiMauro replied to another post on X by saying: "Just so you know: Hurley was called into the university president's office after Maui and was told to knock off the behavior. This is from solid campus sources."

UConn coach Dan Hurley denies social media report that UConn president talked to him after Maui

Can we pin a post at the top of the forum that reminds people that this guy is a hack? He's not to be taken seriously, ignored and not engaged with.

The trend seems to be Danny starts the season insane, gets worse, than eventually calms down.

It's ok to criticize Jim Calhoun. People didn't like that stuff then and it hasn't gotten better in retrospect
So yelling and cursing at your players is okay as long as it’s not in public? Please man yall have to stop

I’m sure none of those players had an issue with how Calhoun coached. As someone who has experience playing for a coach with a similar style it is absolutely not a big deal at all. All guys care about is playing and getting better, both things Calhoun did. Especially in Boatright’s case that yall want to make the poster child for this “abuse”.

I think this better makes the point.

There was a somewhat similar picture of JC with Hilton Armstrong (I'm guessing about eight years earlier than that picture) where it appeared JC was fighting the urge to take a swing at Hilton.

The GOAT used the phrase in question more than once.

Don't throw me in that "yall." No one said a word about abuse.

Again, no one is saying Calhoun is bad. But no one is above criticism.

It’s a very knitpicking thing seeing the results it had. Not just on the court but off it.

How man truly great leaders (not just nice people) did he send out into the world?

Being a master pupil of Calhoun usually meant you were an All American, long NBA career, and leader in any place you went into.

See Ray, Rip, Caron (who is someone Hurley probably wouldn’t have recruited), Emeka, Kemba, etc.

I’m just not here for the nitpicking of someone who was great at what he did in so many ways and changed lives with his style.
