I think they own the WAC too. Or did. In fact I heard somewhere that they were instrumental in getting us games against WAC teams. Honestly I think the studio guys all know and like Mora and we’re happy for him. This was a legit win against a solid opponent Who was a 23 point favorite. I don’t know if it is program changing but it was pretty sweet.

It was program changing. For the players, and recruits, winning games energizes them. And fans will take notice.

The wac is fcs, Fresno state is in the Mountain west

The WAC is an FCS league. CBS Sports owns the MW.

What a great game. Great to outplay a team that was a 3 touchdown favorite, and with all of the injuries and adversity that we've faced this season.

I see a mountain west football only invitation. Along with Colorado and Utah.

Honestly, if there was one G5 league I would take a football-only invitation to, it would be the Mountain West. Recognizable opponents.
 
I was left solo by a friend who couldn’t attend. I’m soon glad I went. Sat in section 219. It’s my new lucky section. Congratulations to Jim Mora and staff-that game was 100 percent coaching and game planning. Huge win.

Whatever....it isn't dreaming. It's putting unrealistic expectations on the team which has 1 FBS win in 3 years. Then bashing them when they do not live up to said expectations.

Trial By Fire. Coach Mora called it. I didn't expect a turnaround until FIU. I was totally blind-sided, hoping for a competitive game. Incredible mental strength by our team to maintain their focus and build upon recent defeats agaist top-shelf opponents. Proud of these guys. Proud of UConn. Go Huskies!
 
I mean what more can be said about Mora and this staff. They had enough stacked against them coming in - then add all of the injuries.

The fact that this team got smacked around the last few weeks and was able to bounce back like this is truly amazing.

We’ve been through so much, enjoy every moment of this, folks. The future is bright.

No plans to bash them at all. They may have a bad effort day or bad luck in a game they are favored. But of the 6 games left, with ongoing improvement, they have a reasonable chance to win 4. Projecting out with optimism is fun, give it a try!

Those will be some looooonnnggg road trips. But it’ll be the same for the teams coming here I guess.

They are the pits…they did the Syracuse game as well and that was even worse, if you can believe it.
 
Oh, this game was program changing alright. But losing to FIU is not completely out of the question. How many times have we seen something like that?

It feels like a giant weight has been lifted off the backs of these young men (and me too). A few veterans and transfers and a bunch of kids making up a walking MASH unit starting to look a bit like a team with some continuity and nothing to lose spirit. The offense struggled for good portions of the games but the D was terrific and kept getting them back out there for another shot. Eventually they came through and Mora didn't tank the end like Diaco most certainly would have. No player critiques for me, just letting this one sink in as a team win. Looking forward to my side trip to Miami next week and hope to see some fans for FIU. We can get another with a game like today.
