How was the crowd tonight?

Actually, I'm just talking about is post game quotes, how did you miss them?

I didnt.
That is Dan toeing the company line. It's fine. He has to. He's accepted (like all of us), and probably has been directed to say after his past comments , which brought him a bit of trouble, that we HAVE to play games in Hartford. But it doesn't mean he likes it.

Villanova, who has 2 titles and other FF appearnces in last 6 years plays 4 games a year at Wells Fargo in Philly.

Sign me up for four XL games every year. Im good. NOT HALF!

watching halftime basketball scrimmages of 10 year olds is for the cupcake games, Big East games are for the plate-spinning unicycle lady. Not sure what happened last night.

There is gonna be another at Marquette game. 2/7. Some of those kids may or may not be related to Adub.

And donating nothing, until they become alumni. Money matters
I donated considerable money to the schools my kids attended. Granted, most of those “donations” were compulsory.

We should’ve re-built and improved Gampel instead of building a new hockey arena.

You think some two game experience is more relevant than 32 years of experience

Consider yourself enlightened.
I forgot you’re one of the village idiots

32 years has no bearing on individual games. We were talking about which night was louder. Prior games are irrelevant to the judgment of which between individual games were louder. Every game and every crowd could be different. Do you understand that? This is critical thinking 101.

You're complaining that most people did what you did. Very odd.
Hypocrisy GIF
The phrase, "Very odd" and a needle pinned on "HYPOCRISY" similarly look like a mismatch.

Isnt this school break? How many current students were there? The XL even with sell outs is rarely spontaneously noisy. Team often needs to spark the crowd.

Okay.

I don’t think “odd” and “hypocrisy” are antonyms.

Their post was very clearly a complaint about others not doing what they weren’t also doing.

Haha, love he hate

Plenty. Both student sections were 95% full.

My first point being college kids don't make donations, and understandably so BTW

My second point being money matters. Again, understandably so

I donate and attend games at both arenas. And I like both arenas. They both serve a purpose, and it's much bigger than what many people think

It's not worth further argument from me.

I registered the validity of your point but quibbled that I found the visual too extreme. I have no need to be right

I have season tickets to both basketball and football. While I love going to campus it’s a bear of a drive from Fairfield County and during the week impossible with traffic. Having games in Hartford makes it worth the investment and the drive.

I don’t disagree, but I’m not a fan of writing off students and their experience. In the end, they are the consumer, notwithstanding the fact that mom and dad are often writing the checks. Part of the selling point for a university which participates in major sports, and is successful, is that unmatched atmosphere of being at a game. I know that that was a specific criteria for one of my kids. They wanted that. The other thing to keep in mind, perhaps, more importantly, is today’s college student is tomorrow’s alumnus. If you don’t suck kids into being a fan while they are at college, the athletics department will be in a death spiral because their largest source of future fans will die out.

Those are things that would be foolhardy to forget. It’s kind of a marketing 101 thing.

Lmao you’re not worth my hate, son

OK, but I'm going to suggest the kids will be there, especially when you're WINNING

PS: I would be there, and I'd work weekends to get there :D

In the 90’s the XL was better than Gampel. Not anymore. However, I think we should all be rejoicing that it’s even a real debate again. We are seeing the rebirth of this program and we are going to bring in young fans with this current team and next year’s class. It’s an exciting time to be a UConn fan. We are back.

Never said they weren’t loud at times. But they sat on their hands several instances. I was standing several times but it was In reaction to the team doing something. See my example of how the crowd could have sparked something and failed
This debate reminds me of when UConn football went División 1 and the rent opened. Our local sports people constantly harped on fans being in their seat at kick off time. Claiming we were building a program. It went on and on and on. Dumbest argument from a bunch of low level sports guys. Guess what. It didn’t matter. winning mattered. Same here. Just win
