Nothing is ideal. Jackson fits his role the most on offense (doesn't necessarily need the ball, not a willing shooter, attacks glass well) and defense (can guard both big wings and perimeter wings). But Jackson was already getting starter minutes, which means Gaffney, Polley, Hawkins, or some combination needs to play more on the wing.
  • Hawkins is lacking strength and doesn't hit the boards, so to contribute on offense needs the ball or plays run for him or kick outs.
  • Polley is slow footed on defense and streaky shooting on offense and also doesn't hit the boards.
  • Gaffney had trouble staying in front of his man last game and has the same concerns as Hawkins on offense.
Hawkins is a better rebounder and defensive player already over Polley as a Freshman. There is a reason why he stayed in the game for a long stretch of the second half and it wasn't his scoring. No doubt Hawkins handle is suspect and he needs to get a full head of stream to make a drive but he can hang in the air and shoot the ball.

I was comparing Hawkins' rebounding propensity to Martin's, not Polley's, and specifically on the offensive end. He's not going to add that dimension like Martin does. Polley for this year does have a higher offensive rebound rate than Hawkins, though, for whatever that is worth (but to your point Hawkins is higher than Polley's as a freshman).

Hopefully it’s more on the 2 week side of 2-4 weeks and he doesn’t have to miss the conference games. Probably not knowing how these injuries are. Sigh…
Per the Cleveland Clinic, regarding TM's "avulsion" fracture:

How long does it take to recover from avulsion fractures?

You might need to wear a cast or splint for a few weeks. Fractures usually take about three to 12 weeks to heal completely.

Yeah figured as much. Was trying to be optimistic.
