You guys might want to find out who your boy Burton has decided will be the next coach... then work from there.
Maybe...probably a anti-cynical pill. I really do need one of those.

Ya know...when I read the recommendation about TOB, I quickly discarded the idea and moved on. I mean seriously....we just got rid of an older coach on the decline who was fired from his previous job and we are going to bring in another fossil? Not gonna happen.
But..it made me think about Jeff Jagodzinski. Remember the big splash he made at BC after TOB left? He was a good recruiter...ran an interesting offense and was the darling of the head coaching world. So I did a wiki look up...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Jagodzinski
What an odd career. We all know what happened at BC..getting fired after interviewing for a job with the Jets. You probably know that he was fired as OC in training camp by the Bucs in 2009 before the season started (because he couldn't communicate plays in a timely manner?)...but in January 2011, he was replaced as head coach of UFL team Omaha Nighthawks...after one season..by the CEO from TD Ameritrade, Joe Moglia? Then he was the wide receivers coach at Ave Maria University? What is that?
Now he is the OC at Georgia State University. No idea how he is doing...nor am I saying UConn should look at him...just thought his career path was interesting.
If it's that or a MAC coach I'm taking the guy with Big East and NFL experience. And before you say that's Coach P too, the difference between the two situations has parallels by couldn't be more different.
The difference I see between the two is that P was far more successful at Syracuse then Schiano was at Rutgers and P's NFL experience didn't go down in flames the way Schiano's is about to. Schiano is a dirty rotten scoundrel and a low basketball IQ coach. I was never impressed with what he did at Rutgers and they have improved without him.
An emphatic no way in hell to Schiano.
Schiano is a name,
No . Especially when there is already a thread named "Next Head Coach"!
I say we pin one and go from there because it's not going away for a few months.
yeah im definetly not on here 24/7 nor do I read every page. So I definetly wouldn't have known if it was posted 1,004,885,000 times. This site sucks. To many people talk way to much crap. And jump on to many people way to fast. Ive talked to plenty of boneyarders at games and they all say the same thing "to many people in there are to negative or talk to much crap that they don't bother to post." Wish the internet tough guys would stop being just that. Or be an internet tough guy in person not behind a keyboard in your moms basement.
We deserved that Fiesta Bowl and I refuse to apologize for playing in a game we earned.
The simple rebuttal to that is when did we ever finished ranked?
Rutgers and UConn football are way more similar than either fan base can bring themselves to admit. We both have had some success (UConn 2 BE Titles / Rutgers 1 BE Title, final ranking of 12), we've both had some awful seasons and unfortunately they've beat us head to head a lot.
For whatever reason, Rutgers has always had more hype around the program, possibly due to Schiano, proximity to NYC, style of play, whereas at UConn we've just been a consistent, hard nose program.
None of that changes the fact they were invited to BIG because of their states population, but ifwe hire the guy that took them to this perception I think it better positions UConn to succeed and get out of the AAC.
Or people can be closed minded CT idiots and simply say Rutgers sucks, NJ smells LOL!
His record is NOT very good! He has coached 76 Big East games and only won 28!Not without some negatives, but I think you would have to look at that seriously. His record is very good. He needs a good Blaney type, but you can get that.
Greg Schiano, I know he is like public enemy #1. I just read a story that hes probably getting fired from the Bucs and he would definetly be open to coming back to college. What the guy did for Rutgers was pretty damn good. He took a terrible team and started recruiting the hell out of Rutgers. Brought them in great class after great class. He develops players. I Would be all for it. If he loses hiss jack ass ways of trying to hurt people or just being the he is. But the guy can recruit and he can definetly coach on the college level. The article I read made it seem like he would definetly love to come back to the Northeast to. Or how about Eric "Mangenius" Mangini?
You guys might want to find out who your boy Burton has decided will be the next coach... then work from there.
No that the clouds have sort of cleared, I'd expect the Boneyard to be marginally cheerier.
Don't set your expectations too high. If there's a bar, the boneyard finds a way to lower it. There's always plenty to complain about.
I am trying against all odd to be a more pleasant and agreeable person.
Probably spend too much time in the Cesspool though.

Not sure I understand all the Schiano hate. His rebuilding job at Rutgers was pretty damn impressive, the players seem to love him and the guy can recruit in NJ which is one of the most talent rich states.
We finished 25th in 2007 in the BCS rankings. Rutgers highest ranking 16 in 2006. When did Rutgers ever finish anywhere that matters? Honestly... and yet their recruting classes were, on paper far and away better year in and year out. Schiano always has been overrated. He took a dumpster fire and managed to put it out... *slow clap*
Alright then we may need a recruiting coordinator. Maybe when the Bucs fire his he will look into a double dipping job as he lives off of his NFL buyout. Other than that no way, from what I've read he sounds like a younger version of GDLI don't want Mangini... Schiano neither, BUT.... he can recruit his tail off.. Question is, would he take the UCONN job if offered?
No...wrong again. I was born and raised in CT. It's in your blood from day 1 but...... to get back on topic, does or can Schiano fill enough of these criteria to be a serious candidate:This is where you and I differ. My cynicism ended Monday morning, apparently that is when yours began.
In 2006 after the end of the season Rutgers was ranked 12th.
UConn has never completed the bowl season ranked ( almost positive).
I just think a lot of the hate is irrational here.
UConn 25th final 2007 BCS rankings: http://secure.footballfoundation.org/pdf/BCS07/NFF.PIAD.120207s.pdf
Rutgers 16th final 2006 BCS rankings: http://secure.footballfoundation.org/pdf/bcs06/120306s.pdf
Rutgers did finish 12th in the AP that year... which will get you a nice t-shirt if you go to Syracuse.
I guess I forgot to add that I hope that TJ Weist hits a Home Run out of The Rent or at least a 60 yard field goal with plenty to spare. He seems like so far he talks the talk lets just hope he walks the walk. Go Huskies!!!!!!!!!Alright then we may need a recruiting coordinator. Maybe when the Bucs fire his he will look into a double dipping job as he lives off of his NFL buyout. Other than that no way, from what I've read he sounds like a younger version of GDL

Spelling off I'm sure but he was in the running for Perno's job. We did well choosing that one. We should look for a similer type personality for our next football coach that we found in JC. Maybe it's TJ. We'll see. We definitely need a fighter and we didn't have that.
His record is NOT very good! He has coached 76 Big East games and only won 28!
To me, that's a perfect example of how silly it is to take a college record and think you don't have to look at it, as if it were an NFL record. The Rutgers team he inherited was the long time doormat of eastern college football. Of course his record sucked -- it takes time -- a good deal of time -- to really move a college program up a few levels. He accomplished that.
That's as silly as using Edsall's record his first few years of coaching I-A football of indicative of anything other than the difficulties of the challenge he faced.
