I'm simply speechless on how you can call a technical on that?

It's just un fcking believable.

One of the worst calls I've seen. PC reaches in, fouls AD, and they call a foul on Drummond. He was too nice about it, and they called a T.

There were too many moving screens allowing PC open 3s in the second half.

No doubt an awful call, sackless ref in that situation.....but we need to admit it got away fast and there was noone to stop the bleeding, especially on the sideline.......noone......tough to take for sure, tough year!!!

If AD didn't throw the ball at the ref the call wouldn't have been made.

Wrong. I've watched it over and over. AD didn't "throw the ball at the ref" -- that's a complete misstatement of what he did. Frankly, that ref has no business officiating a Div. I basketball game, let alone a BE game, if he's going to make game-deciding calls like that. Smacks of Tim Donaghy.

To me, worse than watching the girly-man ref T up AD (after blowing the foul call) was watching Blaney on the sideline looking like all he was thinking about was what flavor ice cream he'd be eating on the bus trip home. The man has less interest in what's going on in the game than the average middle-age fan does. How can we have gone from JC to this.

Worst call this season, but not bad enough for me to get upset. By that time they had already let PC back into the game. It was just fate being executed.

The ice cream line made my night.

This reminded me of umps who bait managers into ejections. This ref decided he was a lot bigger and more important than the piss ant he is. I don't care if he was making a call when Andre dropped the ball to him, that was an inexcusable call.

Blaney's saying Drummond is too nice a guy to have done what the ref thought he did. That's a good point. Shouldn't the refs have a sense of the players? If he had done that it would have been totally out of character.

I do think that Drummond's size played into that horrible call. The tough looking big man frightened that girly man ref.

AD did NOT throw the ball at the ref, but the ref mistakenly thought he did. It was a horrible call that should not have happened. The ref can't call a foul that he only "perceives" happened. It was a bad piece of officiating.

Unfortunately I think the ridiculous T call sonly half the story. The other half show JC would have reminded that ref the rest of the game how he gave Providence 2 points which could have resulted in a call or 2 going our way. I don't see Blaney ever working the refs like this, consequently we seem to always be on the short end of the stick with the officials. I don't think the officiating against us the past 8 games is any coincidence at all.

That technical on Drummond is in the same territory as the Donny Marshall "sarcastic clapping" technical foul.

This was much worse. Sarcastic clapping is just another way of expressing disagreement with a ref and trying to show him up. You can disagree with the T there, but that is a judgment call.

Tonight was not a judgment call. It was just a blown call. As I said, it may have been the worse T I've ever seen called. But we blew a large lead that never should have been blown before the T.

This is my theory as well. It's like the refs recognize this is their "vacation" from Calhoun and are using the opportunity to make all the calls against us.

I was sitting on the baseline directly in front of the call. Drummond, after being called for the foul, flipped the ball to the ref who was walking toward the scorers table. The ref was not paying any attention and therefore the ball hit him. It took the ref a few seconds to make the T call. He almost continued his motion to the scorers table, but had a change of thought and T'd up Andre. Bullshit call.

im still mad that ad blocked a kids dunk atempt then helped him off the floor. r u kidding me? just shows how little league he is in his mindset of a game. not a drop of anger in his body. he still doesn't even realize that when he shoots like a 3rd grader trying to reach from 3 the joke is on him. every person who is bball savy laughs and says to himself "r u kidding me? the guy is 7ft 275 and he shoot slike that and fades away with it going off the side of the boards and he does this from the line etc..." just unreal what a happy place he is in his mind. like happy gilmore on steroids. at this point in time=kywame brown. ad has a long way to go. he can start by not helping the other team up and stop pumping his schest every time he gets a allyhoop dunk over the other teams 6 foot 5 center.

I could be wrong but I think the ref that gave him the T was Karl Hess...the same guy that threw out Tom Gugliota and that other less famous former NC State player. Clearly taking his revenge on the jocks after being beat up by them in high school.

Just re-watched the game and replayed this like five times. He did NOT throw the ball...he let it roll of his hand underhanded and the ref was going right by, and I guess he figured the ref would ummm....f'in CATCH it! Maybe it is some implicit thing that you should wait for eye contact from the ref or something, but this absolutely should not have been a T and I think that ref is going to feel like a serious butthead when he watches the replay.

I have not problem with a little sportsmanship instead of the NBA thug atittudes. If AD wants to show his toughness how about boxing someone out or backing his man down low or setting a hard screen

He didn't do anything to warrant that T, it was an awful decision by an awful referee.......as far as boxing out he had 12 boards, you may want to look elsewhere for the toughness!! Granted he could've had 18-20 but at least he was there...........offensively besides the alley oop lots of work to do..........

how can a ref make that call? easy, he's in over his head and isn't capable of observing what happened and being rational

any shallow stupid man can act like that, happens all the time

You're all jumping to conclusions. You weren't on the court. Maybe AD said something. Not sure. But if he threw the ball toward the ref and the ref wasn't looking, that's on AD. This doesn't merit a thread. It's like you caught your wife cheating on you and you're focused on the fact that she had blue panties on when you caught her. Who cares?

ESPN 3 had a close up after call. He wasn't looking at the ref or talking to the ref. He was looking frustrated to Shabazz as he was handing the ball off. From the angle it showed, you could see his mouth. It wasn't moving.

It was a terrible, terrible call.
