These comments from the ISU AD during Big 12 expansion 5 years ago are kinda hilarious now:

At 10, we give ourselves a lot more flexibility down the road versus adding maybe members that would only clutter up the process. People say, 'In eight years, Texas and Oklahoma are going to bolt.' Well, if we added teams and forced it on them, I guarantee they'd bolt. So that's a part of this process that people aren't thinking about.

If we take Texas and Oklahoma out of the room, we're the Mountain West Conference, and we're getting $3 million [in annual TV revenue, a drastic decrease]. After watching my schools (UConn, SMU) screwed in realignment, I have no sympathy for any other school. I love the chaos. May it never end.

I hope the PAC 12 does a reality show style process like the Big XII did and decides they want to expand with Boise St and BYU and no one from the Big XII. That's my best case scenario besides UConn being invited to the B1G due to sleeper agent Warde Manuel

So....there is no conference realignment activity without UConn somehow getting the shaft. I was just thinking about future schedules....I wonder how much these realignments will force teams to cancel games with UConn? Especially if these larger leagues results in less out of conference games?

I just figured there had to be some way UConn continued the pattern of being damaged by every conference realignment decision....lol.

It would be completely irresponsible not to be making calls right now. You don't have expectations, but you have to keep your ne pit there.

AD Dave came from Auburn and the SEC. I am sure Dave is using his multiple contacts within the SEC to try and secure a UConn invite to the SEC. Fingers crossed!!!!

Unless it's true that they were 100% blindsided this week. Now that would be absolutely hilarious.

Imagine you have 13 friends. You're really good friends with them even though they've all been bff's for a while. You finally feel a part of the group.
