If nothing else they've at least learned not to have the most important battles fought in complete darkness. Last night was definitely the best episode of the series so farThis show is so much more well done than GoT. And GoT was peak TV for much of its run.
I had to watch the last 30 minutes last night twice.
I have to admit, it took me several tries over several years to binge watch GoT. I've never been into zombie shows, and after the first episode or two it looked like that's what GoT was going to be.
Once I stuck with it, I liked it. Not as much as all the hype, but it was good.
Just watch the first episode of House of Dragons. It begins 172 years before GoT. Has a medieval England feel to it that I don't remember seeing in GoT.
The basic theme will apparently be who gets to sit on the iron throne. Not sure if GoT ever mentioned whether or not a queen ruled, but it's pretty obvious the king's young daughter will eventually be his heir after the family feud plays out. As they say, "The only thing that can bring down the House of Dragons, is itself."
Oh - no zombies so far, but lots of blondes.
You don’t recall it being Medieval in GoT? It must be really backwards where you are.
My wife and I are both really struggling keeping up with this show. I feel as if they just assume we know all the family names at this point.

I like House of the Dragon better than most of the Game of Thrones run. The characters are complex and interesting, and the plot twists have created a feeling that all of them are headed towards inexorable disaster despite many of their best efforts to avoid it. It is well done.
They should have a family tree with pictures at the beginning of every episode.
I am constantly bring up the family tree on my phone when watching. The book is even more confusing. There are basically 80 characters using four male names and four female names in 700 pages. I read it on the beach with a lot of beers and that only made it worse. They should have a family tree with pictures at the beginning of every episode.
I sat there just saying "WTF?"Worst season finale ever.

I don't even know where to go with that.Literally mud wrestling.
Everyone gets a dragon. See you in two years.

Very weird finale, casualty of the shortened seasons which are unavoidable with the budget needed for a show with so many dragons. I assumed a battle or something interesting was coming though
Well we saw the brother of the supposed King essentially try to kill him in a way that could be covered up as having been done by the enemy. That was pretty big. I think Daemon's vision and subsequent support of Rhaenyra was pretty big, as was Alicent's defection. So we're now 2 seasons in and I have yet to really see any "moments", meaning no Ned Stark beheadings, no Red Weddings, no defining keynote plot twists or memorable scenes. It's whimpering females, sick kings and smarmy long blonde haired guys. And dragons torching the heck out of anyone and everyone.
