[/td]This will be UConn’s first-ever game in the state of Michigan.
I'm stunned they've never played in Michigan
10 of 12 now confirmed. The other two may be known already, but not yet communicated. It seems kind of nuts to me that we are still scheduling 2026 opponents. But maybe this is normal?
I am excited about the matchup though. Definitely. I want the huskies to face swords and Olson.
The Duke game this coming season is at a neutral site, followed by a home-and-home series in coming years (IIRC).Daniel Connolly commented in his story on the Michigan home and home that "The Huskies don’t have a single home non-conference game on the books at the moment."
That means that South Carolina, LSU, Duke, Notre Dame, Louisville, Ohio State, Maryland and Michigan are all away and at extra cost to see? After all that season ticket holders went through last year financially and emotionally to be able to get seats, I'm hoping that UConn Athletics understands that paying customers will want to see some competitive games live without having to pay extra to fly somewhere to see them....![]()

In all of human history. So Carolina is at Mohegan Sun, Duke is in Boston, and Maryland is in Brooklyn
We really are the fan base with the greatest sense of entitlement in the NCAA

TD Garden in Boston is hardly neutral. It’s likely to be filled with UConn fans. I already bought tickets for my wife and myself, my son and his wife, who live near Boston, and our 2 grandkids who will be attending their 1st college sporting event of any kind. The Duke game this coming season is at a neutral site, followed by a home-and-home series in coming years (IIRC).
Well, our fans complain about games in nearby Charlotte, Greenville or Atlanta . The basis of their complaint is that prices at those venue are higher than our home games and not in the truly low price of season tickets. Many of our families of fans can’t afford the increased costs. So Carolina is at Mohegan Sun, Duke is in Boston, and Maryland is in Brooklyn

The BIG10 typically broadcast WBB games on Thursday nights. Wouldn't be surprised if it's on their broadcast schedule for the upcoming season.Just checked...that game is on a Thursday....wish it was on a "higher profile" day...Saturday or Sunday.
Hmm...wonder how far back we have to go to find us actually losing [heaven forbid!] our first game
of the year? Uhh...that is assuming we had a first loss...which oft-times didn't happen.
Guessing that it was the first game of the 1995-1996 season at LSU. First game after our Ring #1 game
against LadyVol.
Are any of these games at home?Whoever said UConn played a "soft" nonconference schedule last year can't complain next season with games against South Carolina, LSU, Duke, Notre Dame, Louisville, Ohio State, Maryland and Michigan......going undefeated next season would be quite an accomplishment....
Tickets to the Duke - UConn game at TD Garden are not cheap. These games for UConn in Boston, NYC or the Mohegan Sun, and I am sure SC’s games in Charlotte, Greenville or Atlanta, typically against ranked OOC opponents are all part of the recent trend to promote “Showcase games” in WBB on national TV. I don’t know if that’s true for y’all.
That's a very stacked non-conference schedule. South Carolina/LSU/Duke/Louisville/Michigan are all likely top 10 teams. The others are all top 20.Whoever said UConn played a "soft" nonconference schedule last year can't complain next season with games against South Carolina, LSU, Duke, Notre Dame, Louisville, Ohio State, Maryland and Michigan......going undefeated next season would be quite an accomplishment....
Our game out there next season is November 5? Not counting games that don't count
[exhibitions etc] that sure sounds like our first game of the season,,,pretty spiffy
quality,
You get a double dose of UConn next year. Looks like the men are playing each other tooA neutral site game in New England?
Within a typical league schedule where teams played twice in the same season, it would be referred to as "home and away."As a non-speaker of USAian English (we speak what's close to the King's English (the language formerly known as the Queen's English) admittedly with a different accent, and our own set of colloquialisms), I'm confused by the thread topic. To me "home and home" would mean both games are played at our home venue. When we play one game at ours and one at theirs we call that "home and away". Indeed I organise a snooker tournament among clubs in our area every year with a double round robin, and use a program named "Home or Away" to generate balanced schedules...
We're truly separated by a common language. And most attributions of that saying are wrong!
Thanks for the explanation.Within a typical league schedule where teams played twice in the same season, it would be referred to as "home and away."
The "home-and-home" contract designates a different scenario for out-of-conference opponents. Each school gets a home game in this case (in different seasons, which don't have to be consecutive). It differentiates the arrangement from different possibilities (single games with only one school getting to play at home or other series involving neutral sites).
So, I take it balancing the schedule is important because having home table advantage is a major factor in determining the spread for snooker matches.....Indeed I organise a snooker tournament among clubs in our area every year with a double round robin, and use a program named "Home or Away" to generate balanced schedules...
No, we're all very wealthy blue-haired retirees up here. Half are retired lawyers (hence all the arguing on here) the rest are retired doctors and teachers (hence why everyone thinks they know everything).Well, our fans complain about games in nearby Charlotte, Greenville or Atlanta . It would surprise me if they didn't. This will be the best Women's game of the year in the Big Ten.The BIG10 typically broadcast WBB games on Thursday nights. Wouldn't be surprised if it's on their broadcast schedule for the upcoming season.
