Also kudos to Uconn and Hurley for supporting Solo and keeping him in the roster.
A lot of programs would say tough luck and cut him loose
I think 2 more for sure. Our 2 freshmen atre legit. Most teams never play more than 9.The roster has yet to be complete. Do you really think our staff is only looking for bench players in the portal? I think we need 3 more players who will get PT - back ups at the 1 and 5, and a 4.
Yeah, people don't get it. We probably have one more splurge with Solo's NIL freeing up - guessing it's for a 5.Yes, we are UConn, but lets not get too greedy. This kind of lineup will never happen in the transfer portal era unless you have unlimited NIL to work with.
Wow I have seen some really stupid stuff on the boneyard but your comment takes the cake!He should not have been playing. If you need to suit down for a year we should have let him do it and use Millender more.
Hines will be tethered to the post. He isn’t that mobileYeah, people don't get it. We probably have one more splurge with Solo's NIL freeing up - guessing it's for a 5.
My guess, and it's only my guess - is the staff may get creative this year in how the cover the 4. Khamenia, Landrew, even Hines if we find the right 5. Hines is mobile.
Millender is a great teammate and not remotely close to as good as a diminished SoloHe should not have been playing. If you need to suit down for a year we should have let him do it and use Millender more.
I personally would love to see Hines at the 4 and get a long lengthy C but I trust Hurley and his decisions.Gonna be curious now as to whether Hurley goes and gets a 4.
100%, these things don’t happen in a vacuum. I don’t think he takes the whole year off if Mullins wasn’t coming back.
Hines is a 5 he has no skills to play the 4 in our system. We need a 4 that can shoot 3s. Obviously if we could find someone the size of Karaban or bigger that is ideal. Otherwise we will see Nik at the 4.I personally would love to see Hines at the 4 and get a long lengthy C but I trust Hurley and his decisions.

Hines is not going to work at the 4 in Hurley's offense. I don't mind getting a bigger 4 who can has some perimeter skills.100% with you. Wouldn’t mind throwing a big lineup at teams with him at the 4 and Khamenia at the 3, Mullins at the 2. Silas can shoot as well. We’ll have two very big shooters for their size that could also see over defenders to pass into cuts. And also be ready to go if we end up facing some of these inevitably big rosters
Also trust the staff.
I live in Tempe, no good college player prefers to play here.I don't think so. Why did he not automatically go with his coach to ASU. If Dan Hurley gets him on campus, he will be a husky.
It definitely hurts our chances if we can't find more offense on the team. We have Demary, Mullins and Nik shooting 3s. I would like to get one more shooter on our team. I'm not sold on Ross being a consistent 3 point shooter on higher volume.Im so freaking bummed by this.
When Solo is on, he's electric. He will come back better than ever
Why??? Do they want to play basketball outside?I live in Tempe, no good college player prefers to play here.
In today's modern basketball you would your 4 to be somewhat of threat behind the arc. Hines is not that.I personally would love to see Hines at the 4 and get a long lengthy C but I trust Hurley and his decisions.
This dude stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.injury was most likely at scapulo-lunate ligament tear or another nearby ligament . recovery from a repair us very long dye to need for long immobilization, limited circulation, and rehab for range of motion and strength. it is possible to play with pain with this injury but it will not heal without repair.
Can't replace what he means to UConn basketball but he has to be replaced this upcoming season with a major production guy. We won't just run it back without him. Staff is super busy with the portal.I hear what people are saying but I’m a long way from believing “This is for the best.”
It’s a huge loss
Agree & I don’t think it was much of a factor in Stewie’s decision. I think it had more to do with the realization that he was playing behind Ross, Landrew & Khamenia at forward.I find it extremely hard to believe that Stewie didn't know about this before he made his decision.
