HFS…Solo out next year with a wrist injury

Hines will be tethered to the post. He isn’t that mobile
I get the complete opposite impression from him. Maybe you know something I don't. he looked very agile in the games I watched this year. That quality and the fact that he'll be even bigger next year made him the guy I wanted before he even entered the portal

Is it too late to call up Wilkins...? Start this year at the 2, start the following years at the 1, never have to play for Mark Pope. Compelling argument
We don't want him, remember? When he committed elsewhere the comments came pouring in about how overrated he is.

Did we not see Solo featured in a national commercial? NIL is that. He can still earn it.
I agree, I thought the post meant we paid him because we dont want him to play. I'm just assuming everyone aligned on this outcome, including what we're paying him.

Im aware hes getting paid, and he should be.

No way this caught coaches by surprise. One question: Was Ball taking this long to deliberate his options or were they just keeping it quite to gain some advantage? Seems like it would be better for portal players to know there are more minutes available. So an earlier announcement might have helped.

Next year takes a hit offensive but defensively this could be a plus. Overall not good for depth but not terrible. Plus we get him the following year.

Being a glass half-full guy, my initial take was, at least he's not in the portal. And my Mr. Postive take is, I hope he comes back. A healthy Solo will do some damage.
Yeah, but what does Scrappy think?

Ready to go to battle with this squad...

PG - Silas Demary Jr
SG - Braylon Mullins
SF - Colben Landrew
PF - Nikolas Khamenia
C - Najai Hines

PG - TBA
SG - Junior County
G/F - Jayden Ross
C - TBA
Landrew will certainly have an opportunity to earn a starting spot like Mullins did this year, but no way Ross as a senior is not the presumptive starter. It is his job to lose. Just like earlier this year Stewart started until Mullins beat him out. We will see. Ross is going to be further along than Stewart was.

Solo never put his other hand on his thigh/knee on the ft line when everyone else does, he was dunking with his right hand. I almost forgot, Solo was also in a boot before the national championship game. We've never had a tougher player. Silas injury also should've put him out 6 weeks, all he missed was the Furman game. I'm convinced this was our toughest team ever and it's crazy they made the championship game and had a good chance to win it with fair refs.

I think this is best for Ball. He needs to have an incredible final season to get drafted in 1st round. With his wrist fully healed and plenty of time to get the feel back for his shot I think he will be back to knocking down 40% for 3 and with he new skills he developed this year I bet he scores 18+ his final season.

100%. Read Braylon was dealing with a more significant leg issue than he ever let on as well.

Yeah you just don’t drop from 42% to 30% on high volume without some explanation. Gritty effen kid. You might say Ballsy. I wonder how long the staff has known.

Mullins moves to 2, Khamenia to 3.

Not sure how that a red shirt impacts NIL, and if it leaves a pot to go grab a 4.

May actually work out well for everyone to bring Solo back the following.

I wonder when he initially hurt it - does anyone know?
Does this put Donnie back in play at the 4?

I should have been more specific.

The first day of practice for 26-27 will feature Jayden as the starting SF and Hurley will give Jayden every chance possible to claim that role. However, I anticipate that ultimately Hurley will have Jayden be our swiss-army knife 6th man.

Landrew appears to be on target to be our 4th consecutive best high school recruit to start.

Castle ---> McNeeley ---> Mullins ---> Landrew

Freeman is about the biggest bag.
Did they know this and tell him to not bother coming? Seems Donnie canceled because UConn told him they were going with Khamenia. But if Khamenia slides to the 3 (perhaps a more natural position for him) then it seems there is room for an athletic 4 like Freeman.

Everyone thought Mullins was going pro and he stayed so SG covered. Potentially allows more money for a backup PG

I think they’ll be alright with a backup PG from the portal. With a transfer PG and County, they should have adequate depth at the guard spots. And Ross will probably get minutes at the off guard too.

Best part of that shot is the faces of the bench.
