HFS…Solo out next year with a wrist injury

I think this is good overall - Solo needs to be healthy and skipping a year means we have space for incoming xfers and freshmen to get minutes this coming season AND have a Braylon replacement essentially locked in for '27-28. I hope this heals 100%, Solo is a Husky through-and-through.

Yeah you just don’t drop from 42% to 30% on high volume without some explanation. Gritty effen kid. You might say Ballsy. I wonder how long the staff has known.

Mullins moves to 2, Khamenia to 3.

Not sure how that a red shirt impacts NIL, and if it leaves a pot to go grab a 4.

May actually work out well for everyone to bring Solo back the following.

I wonder when he initially hurt it - does anyone know?

Yeah why so long? Aren't these normally 2-4 Months recovery time? Bouknight had a wrist injury and he recovered a lot faster but we don't know the type of injury I guess.
Well maybe he can come back in a shorter timeframe but would miss a portion and comeback rusty. Waiting with the redshirt he can optimize his last year

Nik is still going to be the 4 right now. Ross will start at the 3 with Landrew breathing down his neck for sure.

So this is a definite Solo is out for the year? Maybe there's an outside shot we hear from Solo that he will be back this year by the time the season starts.

maybe, in hindsight it wasn't the smartest thing to do. toughness is meaningless if it is a negative on overall performance
we made the national championship game and he was our second leading scorer....i'd say that's okay performance wise.

Yep. I don’t think Nik signs with us if we told him he’d be used as a stretch 4 like Duke was using him. I think he’s playing the 3, and we need to find another 4. Which works for us bc Hurley wants to go bigger.
Then why did we back off Freeman?

Realistically need a playable PG, SG and a backup C.
I would set your expectations low if you really think we will fill all 3 of those positions with players who will have a big impact next year.

There has literally been nothing but talk about a huge log jam at the 2/3/4 and now people are freaking out that we have a huge hole there? Mullins will slide into a more natural slot at the 2, Ross/Landrew should be fine at the 3, and we have Khamenia that the 4. I presume they’ll bring in a vet PG behind Silas and County will be able to
Get minutes at the 2.

Hope Solo heals up and is ready to go in 2027.
It sucks that Solo is hurt but in many ways this works out perfectly in terms of the logjam at the wing. Mullins at the 2 in 2026-27 and Ball comes back and gets all the minutes at SG to be a star in 27-28. Ross/Landrew at the 3 in 26/27 followed by Landrew getting starters minutes at the 3 the following year.

I've got to believe they will have some NIL for him, but it can't be at the level if he was a starter.
That's my guess also. Frees up some money for transfers they're going after. Don't cry for Solo. He made 7 figures last season and he'll make 7 figures in 2027-2028. He won't exactly be going to bed hungry.
