By the way, Does Lisa Leslie look like she could suit up and go 20/12/7 with 3 blocks in WNBA game right now (she is 52 years old.)?

I am going to watch and root like hell against Dook. If they look like they are going to win both games easy I will stop watching. I just want to see the pain on Dook nation’s face if they get beat.

Sounds petty but I don’t care. Watching Dook and their fans get crushed has been a thing for me ever since we one our first chip. Yes Coach K kept it together but you could see how much that loss tore him up.

Ever since prince pretty boy Laetner hit that shot that ended our dream season I have cherished every final four win against them and loved when the have lost games they were not supposed too. That shot took me a week minimum to get over.

As a kid growing up as a Yankee fan growing up in central CT never thought I would hate any team more than the RedSox or Celtics for that matter. But ever since 1990 Dook is the team I want to see lose more than anything.

True,

But who would have guessed (since the turn of the millennium) that there would be a day where UConn women's basketball would be in a Cinderella position.
I don't think they are. UConn women are 7.5 point favorites against #1 overall seed UCLA tonight.

.-.
I've been watching the Final Four since before we were relevant. Wishing we could just get in the tournament

I'm not going to stop now that we're the best program in the modern era

With all the activity in the portal, and quite an uneventful tourney (if you're anything but a #1 seed) have you lost interest in the rest of this year's games?
We cant win it every year and it sucks we arent there but i love the F4 especially when we have really good teams there and anyone can win it. Last two seasons Uconn was just so dominant there was zero drama. I hope we get drama.

We’re seeing the beginning of the end. We’re all less invested. They’ve got to figure out a way to preserve the passion by making sure fans can get attached to their players and see them through. We can’t have brand new teams every year and maintain the same love for the game. Something has to be tweaked.

You make a great point. I hope you are wrong. I mean we do have a few players who have not made a decision on staying or going. If they stay we have almost a handful of players that have been with the program for three years.

If somehow Hurley can create a culture that convinces these young men staying is their best chance of reaching their realistic goals it gives us an edge.

I do think if we are funded well enough that we will be a perennial national title contender. The back to backs kicked off at least a decade of UConn being a dominant presence in the college basketball landscape. Does anyone doubt Danny can win two more chips over the next 7-10 years.

If he gets to four does he keep coaching?

Eh. People root for laundry. This is objectively a great final four with the four best teams in the country. I just don’t give an because UConn’s not playing.

Interesting questions. I think if Hurley hit 4, he might look at the next level. He would enter an elite club with 4, eclipsing Calhoun and one shy of K as it comes to the modern era numbers. If we got 4 out of him, he'd have done more than you could ask.

I do think Hurley has something going on in terms of culture and psychology with today's athlete that is way above the bar. He's current, in tune with social media, etc. He really strikes a perfect balance. Whether it's natural or studied doesn't matter, he seems to get it.

i wish our men's team could be like the ladies, up 20pts at half.. almost fall off my chair when checking the score

I didn't have my glasses on and thought this thread was tittled 'have you lost internet?"

They beat South Carolina on Feb 16th by 29 points. I don’t think they’re a Cinderella either. Double teaming Bueckers, Fudd, and Sarah Strong at the same time is an impossibility as UCLA discovered tonight.

Watching the women's Final Four, and that's it.
I hope you enjoyed tonight.
Has a two seed ever been an 8-pt favorite over a one seed in a final four?!

Might be a sign that they got their seeding a lil backwards.
The largest ever loss margin for a #1 seed before tonight was 27. UConn won by 34.

And now, by surprise, I get to watch "Bad Santa" on HBO. Life feelin' good tonight. Small pleasures.

I think Sarah Strong is going to end being the best player the women have ever had.
Not saying you’re wrong but better than Maya, better than Stewart, better than Diana, and better than Paige is a very tall order. So many more fantastic freshman…Sue Bird, Shea Ralph, Nykesha Sales, Lobo, Collier, Swin Cash, Katie Lou, and a couple I’m probably forgetting. As a side note I am pretty sure Nykesha Sales still holds the all time single game record for high score.

That be a tall task,

Stewart alone won 4 titles , 4 Tournament MOP and her teams went 151-5

The Final 4 will always be must watch tv for me.

But, I tune in 1 min before Gametime and only hang around at the end for One Shining Moment if UConn isn’t in it.

With UConn and the portal, that is where my X refreshing and article hunting time is going towards.

MUST. WATCH. TV.

Also, that Flagg over the back would have gotten Danny kicked out of the game, and probably has a suspension waiting for him to start next season.

The refs, man…

I stop watching after UConn loses. I haven't felt this way for awhile, "what could have been" is still in my mind. Like that season we lost to Maryland.

Not lost interest.

1. Watching Florida progress and imagining how our season could have ended differently if we had overcome our 2 point differential. They could win it all!
2. watching us build the team for next year.
3. watching our women’s team playing really well and hoping they win their 12th championship.

Go huskies!
