Nike pays UConn 10 Million $ a year to wear Nike uniforms and shoes in all sports; so Nike calls the shots.

If Nike says "we think you will look great in Ohio State colors" -- UConn's response is "Gee, that will be cool. Whatever you guys want."

Follow the money.

It makes me sick. UConn's white Unis with "UConn" on the chest are a part of the teams history and pride. There is a lot of meaning in "defend our uniforms" for all good teams with traditions to be proud of.
Nike wants every school to have their unis look like Oregon football...

We have the sickest uniforms in any sport.. If Nike kept the grey away from the UConn unis, those would be absolutely outstanding

Disliked them on first sight. Now that we know they're bad mojo, I absolutely hate them.

I guess it's one of those "eye of the beholder" things. Could be worse, though, could be Maryland.

Oh Nan, those are OLD jerseys.. This year's unis are where it's AT.. too nice

I believe that Reebok in an effort to be more like Nike is responsible for the Maryland debacle.
Think it was Underarmour, no?

Yep, right as usual. At any rate the trend is distrubing. I will now have to divide my disdain for Nike and share some for UnderArmour.

It was announced at the XL, before the game, that the new unis were made from recycled plastic soda bottles.

That explains it.

And they don't have clear recycled bottles? ;)

Seriously??? This gets more ridiculous every minute!

Instead of burning them, just recycle them so Nike can make them more atrocious next season.

How can I wear a True Blue tee shirt if my team is not wearing any blue?
Send them back and say we obviously got the wrong team shipment!

Good, then they should have little trouble recycling them back into soda bottles. :D

I was up most of the night with a cold, so I was thinking instead of sleeping. I thought of something very bizarre, a theory, but it IS the "New Normal" now, right?
Here goes: The team has red ONLY, with grey, in their all new ugly uniforms. Perhaps they will try to leave it this way, until fans get out of control. THEN, they will "compromise", and bring the actual school colors back in, as equal partners of course. What do have left? RED-WHITE-BLUE. Remember Paul "Pledge of Allegiance" Pendergast is in charge now. He says, to HELL with the traditional school colors!
And while I'm predicting, I think a controversy of SOME kind will boot Geno out. Soon. Some of the posters sound like they'd like that. A controversy that will grow because the flames will be fanned. THEN P P, as head of the "Search committee" will hire one of his guys, to take over for the bought out Geno. Then this new coach will be hailed as a genius, for taking over the awesome upcoming recruiting class that Geno and gang have already assembled. All this new coach will need to do is make sure this powerful train simply stays on the track.
It's too bad. It seems like each bad game by each player is all Geno's fault. When the new coach arrives, it will become the players' fault. Now, drown me out, posters.
Of course, I could be totally wrong.

Recycled bottles, eh?

I was at Walmart recently and saw "Mabu Baby" diapers. The label states that they're made from "recycled pop bottles." (I'm in the midwest yanno.) They're an AI2 hybrid cloth diaper system and since I use cloth diapers, it piqued my interest. Of course, I don't like AI2s so I wouldn't actually buy them but it was nice to see a mainstreamed option in stores. And they have something else in common with those unis--they're meant to be crapped in and the unis are just crappy. :p

Now I'm just rambling, though. :D
