Has any official info been released on the condition of Lou, Nika and Dorka?

Vegas still has UCONN as a 5 1/2 point favorite. They must know something! I thought the game might be taken off the board or Maryland would be less of an underdog.
I saw the same thing. I am very surprised that there is even a line on this game due to availability question
of some players.

If Geno is not there another streak on the line, CD is undefeated as a substitute coach.

No information has been released which is what I expected. So it's game on.

Geno has a plan and we will find out today what it is. He's got over 30 years doing this and there is not much he hasn't seen.

After the Princeton game, I'm not selling Amari and Ines short. They are going to get minutes and contribute. This team is much tougher than some think. I'm not worried about a potential fragile psyche. Nika will make sure that doesn't happen as will others. They will compete. Whether they win or not is another discussion.

As to rankings, this is a mid December game, right before finals. League play really hasn't started. A long road to go. Come on people, did you forget about last season? Many counted UConn out after Paige went down and other injuries hit. Remember the result? We made it to the championship game.

Enough said.
I have to believe none of the players (heathy or otherwise) or the coaching staff have given up this game as a loss. That so many on the BY believe MD is going to win is like a Benedict Arnold moment for me. The kids sitting on UConn's bench are not dog poop. They are all good basketball players, otherwise they would not be sitting on the bench to begin with. I'll go with UConn. Sempre Fi.

Assuming that Lou Lopez Senechal is able to go, does she start at the point or do you go with Ines Bettencourt at the Point, Lou at the 2, Aubrey at the 3, Caroline at the 4, and AE at the 5? AND, will GENO be coaching this game or will Chris Daley take over while Geno is away on Bereavement?

Can we assume that Lou is in her warm ups?

Agree with the line up except switch Aubrey and Caroline. I think Geno will coach, then go to Philly instead of flying to Storrs with the team.

This will be ugly...Bad timing as its on ABC on a Sunday. A lot of people will be watching & Brenda will run up the score.

OT: Did the Xfinity Center replace Cole Field House?
The only college basketball game that I have been at was a MBB game when Villanova lost to MD at Cole Field House in the 84-85 season. Villanova went on to win the NC.

Let the BY "Medical Professionals Speculation Machine" start rolling. Or at least those who stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

None of us know the extent or Nika's injury, Dorka's injury, or Azzi's injury. None of us have seen the test results, examined the patient or done anything but speculate.

There's another important reason why every game is important.
As athletes, the women suit up for every game knowing that it may be their last.
They prepare and are willing to sacrifice their health & well being to play their chosen sport as warriors.
It's important to remember that every player suits up & plays to win only because each game is important to them.
Winning may not be everything but it dishonors the sport to not consider every game as having some importance to each of the players.
If every game weren't important then the players wouldn't risk playing the games & suffering potential injuries.
The importance of the games to fans isn't the same as to the players.
They only take the risks because each game has meaning to them.

Why in the world would Nika be flying if in concussion protocol?!? Makes no sense.
I have a business in which myself and tens of employees are constantly flying. Obviously case by case can be different but in general terms flights of less than 3 hours a couple of days after suffering a concussion is considered to carry virtually no risk. Not sure where Uconn flies from but flight time from Hartford to DC is a little over an hour.

Geno, CD and the rest of the staff would never put Nika in any danger. Given she has flown they would have been 100% confident that she was ok to do so.

And let's be honest, what we fans "learn" from the coach when it comes to time out due to an injury should be taken with a grain of salt. He owes us nothing.
