He should definitely go. I said when he first backed away from UCONN and signed with St. John's that he was looking to be one and done. He is ready and the Johnnies' season was miserable and their immediate future looks bleak. I'd be very surprised if he stays.

I agree with UCHuskies08 that he will be a first round pick, I'd say somewhere between #12-18. A lot will depend on what the underclassmen do and what the international scene looks like.
 
I hate to beat a dead horse, but man, Harkless would have been a great kid to have this year. He's just the type of player we needed at the small forward spot, somebody who adds toughness on the boards and another guy who can get his own shot. Would have given us a nice seven man rotation of Harkless, Boat, Bazz, Scoe, AD, AO, and Lamb
 
^ Not sure how their future looks bleak. They have like 8 players on their team and 7 of them are freshman. Two of them (Harrison, Harkless) look like studs and Pointer and Garrett look to have very promising futures. They just need more depth.

I like Harkless and I wish we kept him but I don't know about his draft prospects. He made his living killing bigs off the dribble this year and I know he won't be a big in the NBA. He may need another year or two to improve his perimeter skills.

He's not considering a jump - his college career is over.

I suspect he'll go around #20. Not sure how he'll do in the NBA - he's all grit and hustle which works in college and not in the NBA.

If everything goes well, his high water mark is probably something like Wilson Chandler. If everything doesn't, he's the kind of player that the NBA quickly forgets.
 
I don't blame him. College isn't going to force him to develop anything he hasn't already. If there is a weakness in his game then if he gets a guaranteed deal he can work on it in the league. Get paid while you can.
 
He's almost a small 4. Should stay and develop an outside game, find himself some staying power in the league
 
He has a lot of room to rise in the next draft if he waits out this loaded draft class.
 
He is probably the 3rd SF taken of college kids. Hard to fault him for going.

What are you talking about? Moe Harkless is a natural small forward and will play the 3 in the NBA. He is playing the 4 at St. johns because their undermanned and undersized. Of course he will get drafted in the first round, this guy has great speed, athleticism, driving ability, and can score 20 points a game. His game will translate very well in the NBA you can be sure of that. For me, he is at the of small forwards tied with Harrison Barnes. Kidd-Gilchrist is a notch below them.

He is a borderline first round pick. Not tall enough to be a big man, probably not athletic enough to be a 2 guard at the next level. Stanley Robinsonesque. Someone should make me a list of every NBA team that is light at the 2 or 3. The list will be short. Players like Harkless grow on trees.

If you are 6'8 and skinny you best be ready to play on day 1, because there are 50 guys coming out between 6'6 and 6'9 that are. No one is going to pay a nickel to develop his game because the upside is not there. If he is not ready to contribute immediately, he will be lucky to find someone to give him guaranteed money.

I hope for his sake he comes back, because I think he could have a very good sophomore year and be a middle of the first round pick by next season if he shows a big improvement.
