Hamilton signs with Sam Goldfeder

Obvious first thing is that this is big for Larrier to step up and be ready. But it's also big for Facey. We won't have the DHam at 4 option of going small (Larrier isn't the same rebounder).

Vance Jackson may be needed off the bench right away too.

Jordan is averaging 11ppg for the Pelicans right now. He didnt "flame out"
He was out of the league and got signed by a team decimated with injuries to a 10 day, you're acting as if he put up those numbers all year, that's over 5 games. I guess props to him for making use of this opportunity but this is usually the time of the year when teams are playing out the string and "unknowns" get run, Dyson had a similar opportunity for the Hornets years ago. I'd be shocked if he is still on a roster next year.

What? He just signed a 10-day contract on March 25th. Previous to that he was floating in the D-League for the past 2 years outside of a couple of 10-day contracts. He's not exactly killing it professionally.

Lmao was going to say, Hamilton was in the D league and over a grand total of 5 games on the most injury ridden team in the league he's averaging 11ppg in meaningless games.

Did not realize that he was just picked up. I saw 11ppg and figured he had been there for a while. My bad.

People laughed when I said I did not like the new rule and gave me timelines etc why I was so wrong. The problem is it is a slippery slope and likely agents start throwing them money or a new car as soon as they declare for the process. It opens the door.

I was surprised KO thought the rule was good - and maybe in theory it is - but I guarantee you - it won't play out in such an orderly process.

Good luck DHam, that's about all I can say. For you stat guys how does his resume look? What's he selling (e.g. small forward with spin moves, rebounder, handle, etc.)?

We can probably take the "maybe" out of the thread title now, eh?

Damn. If both DHam and Purvis are gone we've got an interesting season ahead, to put it mildly.

Let's hope it pays dividends two seasons from now, but get ready for an even bumpier ride next season than we had this one.

Borges deleted the tweets
What he tweet? More uconn player bashing ? He might not be far off on Hamilton but jeez, has anyone seen a less engaged beat guy like Borges? he stinks, so does most of the horde

Yeah I deleted that. I got mixed up and thought Borges made the tweets, not Amore. So I thought he deleted them when they weren't there.

Also, FWIW, I think Borges is far better than anyone on the HC staff.

The timing of this has nothing to do with the new rule. To commit so early in the process suggests this decision, right or wrong, was made a while back.

LOL as usual. DHam jumping had nothing to do with the new rule. It's pretty clear he and his camp have been ready to move on for a while now.

Yeah he's known for a long time if he's making the decision now. Nothing changed in the past few weeks.

This blows. Can't help but think when reminiscing past husky players he will be way down the ladder.

Total bummer. Well it certainly creates PT for some guys. Good luck DHam. I hope you find your swagger wherever you land and become a great ambassador for UConn.

I AM SHOCKED
Blindsided - did not see this coming
I was hoping he would work on his game to make sure he would come back, help the team go deep in the 2017 NCAAs and get drafted in 1st round
Unless I am missing something - I see no way he goes in the 1st round, doubt he goes in the second and is counting on a huge signing bonus as a undrafted free agent- what agent is putting crap in this kids head
I love Dham and have been one of his biggest backers on this site, however, I am disappointed in this decision.
I know many will disagree, but if Giffs couldn't sniff the league - at this point of his career, I just don't see it for DHam.
For UConn's sake I hope he didn't screw up in the classroom and this is what is pushing him out.
Good Luck DHam- I really hope you make it

This is so dumb I have trouble believing it's true. You would think his lifetime goal is to play in the NBA and if he is really signing with an agent now he's pretty much assuring that's not happening. Hoping for our team it's not true but hoping for Daniel's sake even more it's not true, talk about making a bad decision for your future.

Seems like in recent history, at least since 2010, the team fails to meet high expectations and exceeds the low expectations. Here's to low expectations next year.
Larrier could very well be the real deal. Him and Gilbert give the team completely new makeup. We need a grad transfer badly though , anyone.

"But after talking it over with my family, I just feel this is the best thing, to provide for my family, help my family out." Sounds like a lot of pressure on him to make his family some money.

Amore got a quote from Hamilton saying he's staying in the draft. It's true.

Maybe he saw what happened to Boat and figured he'd go pro at 20 versus 22. Whatever the case, good luck to him. Was hoping to see him become a great Husky but it's his life.

The NBA is a great place to improve one's skills.

There has to be more to this than what we know. KO knows what it takes to make it in the league so you know he wouldn't steer DHam wrong. Either KO told him to go for it (he does have his own NBA connects) or DHam did this for reasons that are still unclear (grades, money, etc).

Just for the sake of keeping facts straight, can we change the thread name to "DHAM to sign an agent"

Best of luck to him, thought he could have made the wall if he stayed.

Boat is 5'10 160 lbs., his size is what limited his ceiling. Hamilton is making an enormous mistake, this is sad.
