I'm trying to quote the post above where Chief insinuated that the PSA Coach has "connections" or "roots" in NY.. Tom Espinosa is a hometown kid and played high school ball around here like me, as did Scraba.. So any "roots" you're talking about are fictitious.
Believe me he does have NYC connections. That's how he gets the NYC players. Dah

I'm not saying he made it up but his track record is really poor with his Taurean Thompson call and his relative at TCU who told him Memphis was one of the four finalists for the Big 12 and UConn was out.

this is true.

I think it's a chicken or egg situation, I'm going to entertain this - even though I know you're completely full of s***

High profile AAU programs / handlers or even the college programs themselves create connections with schools like PSA to stash kids to either get their grades up quietly.. That's what happened back in the day with Scoochie Smith, boy could I tell you a tale about who paid for him to go there.. You're overstating coaches connections going in the other direction..

PSA jumped the shark and went from a hiding place to a nationally recognized program over the course of several years and now they're a serious factory..

However, knowing what I know and seeing what I see, let's just say when the music stops, the Putnam Science Academy 30 for 30 is going to be depressing..

I don't know what's more ridiculous. This kid's posts or the number of responses they get.

@CGarr nailed it. Where was our insider/friend on the times players were on campus and we didn't find out via social media? To quote Big Cat and PFT Commenter, "Hmm".

Diallo has got people paranoid. It's like we're living out the plot of Sixteen Candles and the yard is Molly Ringwald

How hard it is to believe now that that guy was supposed to be Daniel Hamilton. Didn't quite work out.

My hunch is that it will be Jalen Adams. He didn't have an extraordinary freshman year, but people will remember the shot he hit against Cincinnati, and people will remember what he's about to do.
I mean a top recruit that chose us. I believe uconn was up and coming and Chris chose UConn over a major school which kick started everything. Not saying we don't have great classes but beating out UK for diallo and maybe bamba would be huge

Didn't we beat Kansas, Louisville, and UCLA for Hamilton?

Most teams stopped recruiting Hamilton, because they assumed he was going to follow brother Isaac.

So I wouldn't say we beat those schools, KO was just the only one that stayed after him hard

No, I'd say we beat them. Just like we beat Kansas, Louisville and Maryland for Adams; just like we beat Syracuse, Louisville, Texas and Maryland for Gilbert; just like we beat UCLA, Arizona, Maryland and Oregon for Jackson; just like we beat Indiana, Florida and Louisville for Durham.

There are no caveats here. Over the last three years we've repeatedly signed top players that other top schools have wanted. Now we're back to the level where we're doing it against Duke and Kentucky, with our success rate to be determined. Period.

As I said, bring on the hate. I could talk to Ollie himself and everyone would call bs. I do not care what anyone has to say about the players i talked to. They just hung out with him a few days ago and said he probably won't come here.

Understood - Some here look for certainty and pretend nothing can ever change with an 18 year old kid. Just ask your own senior in HS and their friends what college they think they are going to next year - and it will likely change week to week.

On the other hand in the adult World - there is no better certainty sometimes - look at the Big 12 - you can predict activity but it's hard for anyone to know how it will end up - since you can't assume a logical outcome.

Lost in all this was Chiefs epic bold faced lie about the PSA coach, a perfect illustration of why not all info is good info.
You are once again wrong - the PSA coach has NYC connections - that's why he gets good players from there. It's not by accident.

Chief has no reason to make up stories about hanging out with Drummond but he still does.

You need to look at some peoples track record before believing or not believing their info

You are living in mythology - the plan changed - you have no idea what you are talking about - you just mimic others who are equally clueless.

Connections and roots are two entirely different things in this conversation , but carry on.

Saying we beat some of these schools is like PC claiming to beat us for Dunn. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but all offers aren't the same. You can't just look at verbalcommits.

We're talking about 5 star, McDonald's All-American caliber players here. Even we concede that Durham's injury may have scared people, you're saying those schools didn't want Hamilton, Gilbert and Adams? We had to fight off UCLA for Hamilton even after he committed to us. Regarding Alterique, Shaka said something to the effect of "we tried, but that one wasn't even close." Mike Hopkins admitted that Syracuse tried like heck to get Alterique to visit but he didn't want to....cause he knew he was going to UConn.

Ollie's been putting the work in early and laying such strong foundations with these guys (add MAL to the list too) that these schools who come in a little too late haven't had much of a chance. There are ways to "beat" these other top schools besides having a kid wait until the last minute and pick the UConn hat out of a lineup.

Key word was "some." Every situation is different.

Say whatever you want...

UConn Lands Top Recruit Daniel Hamilton » The Spun

This says KU and Ville didn't even offer

D. Hamilton, No. 27 junior, commits to UConn

This one confirms most schools backed off him after Isaac went to UTEP.

Daniel Hamilton - Basketball Recruiting - Player Profiles - ESPN

Reiterating the lack of big name offers...

Also, ucla only came on after he had already committed here and his brother transferred.

Hamilton was a huge get because of his ranking at a time when we were expecting to get hurt by being in the AAC, not so much because we beat other big names for him

If any of us were the coach of a prep team that is basically 2 hours from NYC we would be down their recruiting players to, that doesn't mean he's connected to Syracuse, which is what you implied.

Well, we can't really ignore the facts here :

We were one of the firsts major teams to get on diallo

He hangs out with the players regularly

Was on campus this past weekend

Best friends with Mamadou

I have, and im sure others have, seen Hamidou on campus numerous times this year. In my personal opinion I think we are jn great position with Hami

Diallo's commitment is not rising on the anticipation scale with the B12 expansion. Not nearly as momentous, but I imagine the potential disappointment level may be rising with each day.

That's what I thought too. I hope the players were trolling me and are just keeping things on the down low.
