The last castrati actually lasted into the twentieth century, in the Vatican choir. See Castrato - Wikipedia.

Not only was he a great singer, but he was also a great entertainer. His shows were always energetic but also fun, saw him live in 78 while stationed in Germany, plus 4 other times, they were some of the best shows I ever attended, RIP Meat.
