Good news for Dook fans

I think he was saying his league wasn't a toy poodle league. I don't think though that it was so much the league as it was the old men versus boys argument we've talked about here many times. Dukes youth and immaturity showed at the end of that game. Maybe then if playing in the Big 12 matured his team more than the ACC he has a point.

Sounds like an ACC slam to me.

Yeah, it's the logical inference of the statement, given the juxtaposition of the two statements. But there are a bunch of people in the world who will deny it because we don't live in a world where most people can make basic logical inferences. It's either explicit or it's over-reading to many many many.
Duke was a very good team this year, I will not take anything away from them. The thing is, outside of Duke, the ACC was a steaming pile of garbage this season yet nobody in the press says a word about it. If the current Big East had a somewhat similar season, the press would be falling over each other calling it a low major with one quality team. Hell, if the prior Big East (the one that put eleven schools in the dance two years before it was dismantled) had a season like that the press wouldn't stop talking about it, claiming it was a conference with a lot of overrated programs.

.-.
In seriousness, a game like this shows how hard it is for even heavily favored teams to finish the job. Duke "should" have several more championships than us, but we've finished better than anyone in the sport for 30 years, either as favorites or as underdogs.
Actually, a stat I never hear ANYONE away from this board discuss is the fact that we are 12-1 in the Final Four.

Let that sink in

No one can compare to that in the modern era, not even close

The Duke fan forum was....pretty classy for the most part.
Our energies are misdirected hating Duke.
Their fan base and program is solid. Just like ours.

Your real enemy is the SEC. Quit being played
No we can hate the SEC and Duke the same amount at the same time. Duke basketball is the most professional or I should say they have spent the most money on their roster of any team in the country. So they need to fail.

Compared to every other program except Indiana, it's absurd. 6 Titles in 7 Final Fours is a statistical anomaly.

Indiana and UCLA the only other programs with 4+ Final Fours with an above 50% ratio. Indiana was 5/6 after 1987, and are now 5/8; UCLA was 10/12 after 1975, and now are 11/19.

Florida have a 3/6 ratio after tomorrow night. It's hard to capitalize, and we've done so at an insane level.

Most Final Fours:

1. UNC: 21, 6
2. UCLA: 19, 11
3. Duke: 18, 5
4. Kentucky: 17, 8
5. Kansas: 16, 4
6. Ohio State: 11, 1
7. Louisville: 10, 3
7. Michigan State: 10, 2
9. Michigan: 8, 1
10. UConn: 7, 6
10. Villanova: 7, 3
10. Houston: 7, 0

.-.
And the one loss came in what was basically a home game for Michigan st.
Then MSU didnt even make it worthwhile getting their doors blown out by UNC, I can’t believe I was actually rooting for UNC in that game.

2014 was sweet revenge having the elite 8 in MSG, and of course actually finishing the deal.

Sorry but puuulllleeeessssseeeeeee…….

Dude you were a #1 Seed!

Yeah, people were really “sleeping” on Houston!

Such an underdog! A #1 seed taking down another #1 Seed?

Yeah, Kevin no one saw this coming....
Why does this bother you so much? The media hype was overwhelmingly Duke. His statement brings back Khalid’s “We shocked the world” memories. They slept on us back then. Duck Fuke! Duck the media disproportionate hype of that program.

True. But they're not the kind of fans who would name all their kids Zion or Cooper. That's SEC country.
I live in TN and my head spins with the amount of boys, girls and dogs named Peyton.

#1 seed v #1 Seed

No on “slept“ on Houston….

How about? “Good game, Valiant effort by our team and that was a darn good opponent that we had to dig down deep to pull that one out”

First thought after you somewhat miraculously win in part due to breakdown of other squad is go after their conference and lack of supposed respect for your #1 seed? LOL

I’ll have none of it…

No thanks. Like school in the summertime…. Yeah I’m talking Fat Albert :)

Breaking news: The media hypes up the blue blood led by the #1 overall NBA draft pick NPOY instead of the school that has never won a title led by LJ Cryer

Houston probably would have gone to the Final 4 last year if Shead didn't get injured (would have gotten whacked by Purdue, but at least would have made it). They've been really good, but nobody needs to pretend they don't know why Duke has gotten the media attention over them

The majority of us weren’t rooting for Duke but we were rooting for Flagg.
Rooting for the guy who waved to us in his rearview mirror on his way to Duke?
Whose parents were shown on tv more than many of the players?
A guy who if he was successful yesterday would have his team tied with UConn for 7 titles?
Are you drinking this am?

I’m sure the sportswriters will still vote you #1 in the final poll, so you have that going for you

Lolololol

This tournament completely sucked and now it just became EPIC

Thank you Jon Sheyer and Coach K and all the Dookies that made this happen for us. I’m pretty sure you will hold the record for biggest blown lead late in a Final Four game for quite some time. (A record which you previously held in 2004 but you managed to top tonight!!!!)
Oh 2004, you say?

.-.
The more I watch the replay of the infamous foul call, the less bad I think it is. Flagg didn't necessarily go over the back or anything, but he did hold/push Robert's arm down, if only briefly, but enough to not allow him to raise his arm for the rebound.

7 years on the 'yard is a solid run, Mr. Jay.

Please, please don't tell this board and 20+ year guys to redirect our energies toward Dook. Really bad form.

Lmao at Scheyer choking and Flagg once again being bad in the final minute of a game.

Maybe he can develop into a 1A franchise guy. But he hasn’t shown that this year.
Best high schol senior I have ever seen, period.
